I can't f'ing stand Ike Taylor!

He said in an interview they just didn't offer him enough money. Allen and Lewis had pretty similar 3 yr stats but the Steelers had more cap room.

Please show me that quote. I can find you this quote:

I've also seen interviews with him where he says the exact same thing. So I'd love to see your quote please.

He wasn't that good until about midway through that season, so in the few seasons he was here he played half a season of good football. I wish he was here, but I can see why they didn't offer him anything, and I think there was more to that with the Saints. I still have no idea why they gave Allen money.

He was good-not-great that year, but still IMO our best corner. And much younger than Ike.

Lewis wanted out. The only way the Steelers could keep him was if they offered him a big money long term deal.

Lewis was similar to Worilds and Sanders. Worilds showed some flashes last year but not enough to commit long term. The Steelers were forced to overpay for 1 year because they had absolutely nothing without him.

The Steelers would have to take a leap of faith to keep Lewis. They did that with Cortez and so far it does not look good. I think they should move Cortez to Safety.

The losses of Sanders and Wallace are no big deal because the Steelers have been able to draft replacements at WR. They haven't drafted any great defensive players since Woodley. Heyward is pretty good but is he great? Not yet.

Shazier is the first drafted defensive player that has flashed any real star potential since Woodley and he's been constantly injured.

The Steelers need to approach this draft as if they have zero OLBs. They absolutely must hit on a pass rush OLB or next year will be no better. If the have to trade up then that's what has to happen. They have flushed a 3rd rounder away for 2 straight years on Landry and Archer. I'd rather trade a pick away for a shot as a stud than for a backup.

Is Shark our Bob Sanders??

Not even close. Sanders was NFL player of the year in 2009. Thomas has the injured part down pat, but has never made a decent play at S for the Steelers.

I've seen Lewis interviewed several times. I was in N.O when he signed. He said many times that he thought of Pittsburgh as home as well but they didn't want him. He even said he was open to giving them the same deal but they never even offered him anything. He's never said anything about him wanting out. Not one word. I don't know where this comes from. It sure never came from him.

That was made by people who don't want to blame the front office for another stupid player decision. They let him walk and gave big money to a guy who's best coverage is his *** on a bench.

Strange we never hear about the decision not to resign Sanders. Is that because he was so highly regarded on the Board? Looks like he will be a much bigger factor for Denver than Lewis will be for NO and you wonder how much he could have meant here.

I would have liked for it to mean another third round pick.

I'm not sure why anyone expected Ike to play any better than he did on Sunday. He's been out for most of the year, his first game action and he was already showing signs of slowing down. I love me some Ike, he has been a great Steeler. Great work ethic, solid player. But even I knew he wasn't going to come back and suddenly be a pro bowl CB for us. He got even more playing time than they were originally going to give him because McCain pulled his hamstring.

With Allen going through his funk, and now his thumb injury, this is what you have at the CB position. One solid starter, and a bunch of back ups forced into starting roles. And when I say back ups, I mean special team players, third on the depth chart and lower type back ups. This D is going to live and die by the blitz. It's all we have right now.

Stop rubbing salt in the wound Vader.

One can never have enough Archers on the team.
