Qbs hover around 15-20% of the cap. Franchise guys can even top that.. Over the next five years the cap is guaranteed to climb to around 320 million dollars… so expect contracts for meh starters to be 48-55 million dollars and great ones to probably be around 65 or more and since agents plan out the deals over years, that 65 number might be seen in the next year or two with burrow
That is insane. It a team game. He is 0-1 in playoffs in 9 seasons. And I agree his team was a part of that. To me this league is all about perceptions nothing to do with substance. There is a perception that maybe the Raiders are a **** franchise and Carr is good, but I've watched enough of this guy. He will be lucky to win one playoff game in his career. He just does not have it.

You're right - it's insane. And unless Kenny turns out to be Mahomes, if he wants big big money, it's time to draft the next Kenny. Way too many teams take themselves out of the running by overpaying average QBs.
Fortunately, we have a few years until we potentially have to worry about this. Until then just sit back and enjoy what's happening in Cleveland, Baltimore and soon to be Cincinnati.

Carr is an upgrade but this move does nothing in terms of pushing the Saints into contention, at least not as they're currently constructed.

The problem is EXACTLY what you are saying: we don't even know what Kenny is yet. He threw a few good passes that were reminiscent of Ben throwing while scrambling and the whole Jockocracy on the sports media outlets were saying he's the guy in Pittsburgh. The sports media suffer from the same problem cable tv when CNN was born had/has: gotta feed that beast 24/7. The internet has only made it worse (specifically you tube) with everyone and his dog an expert now just because they started a Steelers themed channel.
I called the season at 8-9 on social media during training camp and I was called crazy....they were going to "make it to the AFCC game" ..... And they believed that because all these younger fans(for the most part younger) are egged on by " Fake Sports News." So, we don't know what Kenny is yet. I hope he is the second coming of Joe Montana, but we have to reserve judgement for now. To quote a famous press conference coach " We need a bigger body of work from him."
He should be sending Russel Wilson Christmas cards.

When David started his little media show, he made several gesters, that Derek was a better QB than BEN ROETHLISBERGER. Some of the BEN haters here were actually agreeing with him……
Both are less than stellar and didn’t David set a most sacked QB record…..???

Mahomes’ contract is reasonable and calculated, some team protection in it as well.
When Cleveland landed the Watson contract, Fully GUARANTEED, I knew was going to start a domino effect. This going to be a ten year Quagmire, with uncontrolled demands which will trickle down from QBs to eventually LS-ers.
Just for the record, Pittsburgh signed their LS to a reasonable, 1 yr deal. They definitely got out in front of this insane deal.
