If you are a defender of …

If anyone is going to blame Pickett it's laughable watch the game again. Literally nothing there. Boots with no one blocking edge at all.
Watching that game once=complete waste of time

Rewatching that game=insanity

I wouldn’t need to watch one snap to tell ya the Rooneys, Tomlin, Canada, Pickett, Najee, The OL are all inept and below the line

Count me in as another who wants the whole coaching staff gone. I think yesterday's game showed it all pretty clearly. Our opponent had **** for an OL and a rookie QB in his 4th game, and destroyed the Steelers. They marched right down the field for a TD on the game's opening possession, so you can't even blame our **** offense for leaving the D out there too long. Then our **** offense never manages to cross midfield in the first half. It could easily have been 30-0 at halftime.

I've been trying to figure out for years, what exactly does Tomlin do? Seems to me he is just watching the game, just like us. Well, I guess he did go over to the OL and tell them to "fix it". Truly inspiring.

I have no desire to see any retread coaches from the past, and I don't see any reason at all for the new head coach to have any ties to Pittsburgh. That's just limiting and stupid.

Star power on the field has carried Tomlin his entire coaching career. Sure, he deserves credit for bringing some of them in. /blind squirrel

Our only hope has been for great players to overcome bad coaching and hopefully someone else beats Belichick in the playoffs. BB vs Tomlin was always a coaching mismatch, as well as any other mediocre coach vs Tomlin.

One more thing, I'd rather lose by a team beating us by a couple deep passes than by getting picked apart with wide open receivers AND gashed for 150/game on the ground. Who TF designed this defense, and why can't we just copy other teams' offenses?

Their formula is play it safe offense mixed with don't get beat defense. They are incapable of adjusting and just hope that the talented roster can out perform their opponents. When an opponent is great at schematics and playcalling they are left with wide eyes and team we must execute the next game betters.

We need an aggressive minded HC that can out scheme and out play call the opponent. You add that to a talented scouting department and good things.

All Starts at the top, this is nothing new, the Rooney's are the problem. Can't blame Mike T or Canada at this point.
Thank you! We’ve all seen this many times before, so has Rooney. He excuses it.

I know this probably won’t go over well…
But did TJ play today?

Maybe he didn’t want to single handily ruin his big brothers special day?

BTW---is Micah still on the team?

It seems to me the D is designed to let them march down the field, but hope for a big play (big sack or turnover), or for the opponent shooting themselves in the foot at some point (big penalty, bad throw on 3rd down, etc). I'd prefer a plan to actually stop someone. Not a "bend don't break", but a "don't bend at all". Kick the **** out of them and don't let up. Punish the receiver. Stuff the run. Keep hitting the QB. You know, Dom Capers, Dick LeBeau, currently (to a point) Dallas, Ravens, 49ers, Eagles type defenses.

I’m With Rocky here boys. I’ve been saying it for years, we’re never going to another SB with Tomlin.
Look at his record from the 2011 season until 2023.
Three playoff wins and some terrible playoff losses. Plenty of loses to lesser teams, poor coordinators both offensively and defensively that he hired, poor hires of position coaches, plenty of slow starts. But we haven’t had a losing season under him which seems to be enough for Rooney,
I’ve just never been sold on Tomlin. He wasn’t qualified to even get this job back in 2007. One year as a DC in Minnesota where his defense ranked near the bottom of the league. Total bs hire. Now look where we are!
I’ve been saying we won’t even get to a Super Bowl with him, let alone win one.
Everything he won he won with Cowher’s team AND coaching staff. As Cowher’s people retired or moved on and the team became more Tomlin’s, they got steadily worse.
His one year as the Vikings’ DC he had the unique distinction of the league’s #1 rushing defense and #32 pass defense simultaneously, a feat that I don’t think was accomplished before or since.

All of the running and quick passing limited the impact our OLBs could have against the pass. Our team made no adjustments (maybe there were some but I didn't see em).

Why do most people act like a team can't just be bad, bad coaching and not enough talent to make up for it.
And yes the talent has looked bad for the better part of two seasons. Pickett, Najee, DJ, the line. Look at the tape, look at the stats. its all bad.
Thats what happens when you have no elite talent and your HOF qb isn't there to save you.

This defense absolutely lives and dies by the splash play. They don't look to physical dominate in the trenches, shut down the run, take away the pass, etc. It's pressure the QB and force turnovers. If they don't do either, they aren't very good.

Was 60 minutes. Fell out with the Dave. Booted me
😂😂😂. Just mostly read **** now

New member has been telling us for years.

you told US for years? who the **** are you

you certainly weren't here under that name

Nothing new about me my man. I’ve been around since the days that coach told us Troy’s head was to big
He's been stashed on the practice squad....

our HOF QB looked like garbage under Canada as well. Remember how fast Ben got the ball out, but throws were like 2yrds downfield or behind the line? It is the same thing we are seeing under Pickett. The difference is I think at times Ben just said F-it and went away from the playcalls. Seems like the offense has a pre-determined read and they throw it there no matter what.

I agree with most of what you are saying, but to say because post elbow Ben was bad with Canada at age 39, Kenny must be bad because of Canada, and only because of Canada.
Canada doesn't make Kenny miss reads or not accurately pass the ball to open recievers. does he? Thats like blaming DJ's drops on Canada. Yes Canada is bad but 90% of the time Kenny looks like total trash with his inaccuracy and decision making.

Tomlin with 2 good coordinators would have 3 Super Bowl wins by now. It should serve as a lesson for all of us about surrounding ourselves with talented people.
