Cam Heyward is coming across as a little b!tch, whining to the media and taking personal fouls in game about a QB doing something to him. That's where we are now, our leader on defense is whining about a QB being to rough, come on. Imagine Lambert, Mean Joe, Porter, Harrison, etc. whining to the media about a QB

I’ve been of this opinion for awhile now. As much BS as he is involved in, his play does not merit the attention. A ****-ing QB got a little physical, show him physical the next play or three. If the offensive act was that serious, body slam the ***-hole and take a REAL penalty for it.

Wussafication is happening across the team, they are playing the softest I’ve seen a STEELERS’ team play, especially the defense.

Guys like Debo are justified in their criticism, what happened? It seems like the weight room is an after thought, winded because they can’t get off the field. Undisciplined from the top down, shows cleanly and easily seen.

Salute the nation

I love Cam, he has been great!!!!! But, HUGE BUT (insert joke here), I am so glad the Steelers didn't extend him further with a bigger paycheck. I believe it is telling that Cam and A-A-Ron walk out of the stadium together, with Tomlin. hmmmm....all hail the departing Trio! :)

Let Cam Go!

That’s what happens when things are going bad. It’s unraveling in Steelerland so players are acting and sounding off like Cam. They make excuses and they complain.
Not a good look for a once proud franchise.
Great job Art and Tomlin.

to be fair, Josh was just trying to get off the ground. it's Cam's fault for having a 4-yard wide gut.

It's like on Remember the Titans, when sunshine flipped the DE over, and the coached yelled hey personal foul, the ref just looked at him like he was stupid, "on the QB coach, come on?"
Let's not forget Cam at the bottom of a pile once punched Herbert in the stomach.

I've said for years Cam is a soft team leader and this does nothing to change it. From what I've seen, there isn't even video evidence of Allen kneeing him in the stomach. He's produced at a very high level on the field, but his career will be remembered for winning zero games of any significance, and that is unfortunate.

Unfortunately, you could probably add TJ‘s name to that also.

TJ's name is absolutely there, he just isn't the face of leadership on this team. That is Cam and Cam alone. I think it's a big reason why these guys don't play for each other like they used to. Cam's always about excuses, never action.

Understood.
However, if that is truly the case, why would the organization pony up and meet his demands for a new contract?
If I was an owner and a veteran player well passed his prime wanted to renegotiate the millions I’ve already paid him that he’s under contract for, I would certainly take excellent leadership on the field and in the locker room under consideration before I wrote a check.

Desperation did it. They see a problem and have no idea how to solve it. So, they give contracts like this, bring in older guys with no real future with us, talk of pedigree, use familiar, lame game philosophies, etc.

It's clearly a mess, and the most important thing to them is not lose their jobs.

But...let us not forget....Cam has a decent podcast from time to time! :ROFLMAO:

Holding in this camp and playing the way Watt has thus far this season has done his reputation no favors. He's aging quickly and it's only going to get worse I'm afraid. This is one contract that's going to age bad.

Wearing that gold sleeve on his arm it was easy to isolate on him while watching the game Sunday and see how poorly he's really playing.

Cam? It was a drop in the buck in terms of cash and demanded an All-Pro season with team success to earn.

$1.6 million for 8 sacks and making the playoffs
$1.6 million for at least 11.5 sacks and the Steelers win a playoff game

Cam is always on twitter or X bitching when he's not ranked high enough on someone's list

The coaching stinks but so does the leadership. Need a big housecleaning this off season. And please don't try filling holes by signing any more old plugs.
I'm convinced they keep trying to plug holes with veterans because the HC doesn't want a losing season. The way Khan/Weidl have drafted doesn't mesh with their free-agency approach. They're trying to build and bandaid at the same time and it isn't working. It's not working because the franchise doesn't have a firm vision of what it wants to be schematically and instead wants to rely on out-talenting the opposition...or maybe I'll borrow Tape's perfectly descriptive term, they just try to "Steeler harder."
