Initial Thoughts on eagle Game

Convince me that this team can string playoff wins together to win a Super Bowl.
Hey, at least they won't back into the playoffs this year right?

Progress. :ROFLMAO:

I know I am seriously feeling 10 and 7ish vibes after this debacle.

If TJ is out and they lose next week I bet I won't be the only one.

Steeler Football is 60 minutes! Today they played for 30 minutes!

The team just got completely manhandled in the 2nd half! They possessed the football for 5 minutes 50 seconds in the 2nd half of the football game!

Lose in the wild card round. Perfect scenario if you are content with kissing your sister.
I disagree. Get healthy. This team with all pieces in place can beat anyone in AFC. They got **** on with a schedule and now injuries at worst time but that's ball. Get it healthy. They have defense and run game if you have to it will travel.

My initial thoughts. ..

We sucked. Offensively....defensively...and most of all....our coaching.

Next week ....the Ravens.

slow start for the offense - as usual

Watt of course makes a big play....and the o still sucks

OL has got to step it up

punt coverage with the big hit forces a to deep - gotta punch it in now

schocker bullshit ******* penalty - should have been offsetting

2 TOs only 3 points....****

sort of funny that CAIII thought the had to jump in and protect Washington

Well they get out of the 1st quarter only down 7 - 1st qtr has sucked for the team this season

eagles offense making it look ******* easy

finally a nice drive and a TD for MUUUTTTHHHHH....gotta keep feeding him the rock

17-13 at the half not too bad considering how the offense started

pleae start passing more on 1st down

**** take that damn pitch to najee out of the playbook

tackling ******* sucks at times...too many misses that would have stopped 1st down plays

offense cratered after the ******* najee fumble

defense looks worn out

**** too many guys dropping, Fields, DJ, kazee now ******* TJ hope none are serious

defense just couldn't get off the ******* field today. offense was not good, but the defense needs to step it up an d make some ******* tackles

glad to see Watt was able to get up and walk to the locker room

**** this game

**** the eagles

beat the **** out of the rats next week
What? Don't you mean the D? Didn't Eagles run out the clock after recovering the fumble? I could be wrong.

Steelers could have been worse. Eagles are just better at this point. Give us receiving help and more experience with this line and we may be just as good.
I think they need a better number 2 CB and WR to ultimately achieve something more than a playoff win or two.

Saying that let’s see what transpires with TJ, DJ, Elliott,Larry, and Pickens back starting…

A pretty weak performance on both sides of the ball, though the status of Watt pretty much overshadows everything right now. If he is hurt to any significant degree, we might as well start looking forward to the draft. Their record without him says it all.

Today's game illustrated the need for another above average player at WR more than any other game to this point.

They also need much better OL play, though I'm hoping it can improve from within over the next year with Frazier and McCormick gaining experience and Fautanu fully recovering from injury.

I'm also starting to think CB might once again be a top need in the offseason. Porter has been a huge disappointment and though Jackson has made some plays this season, he also gives up a lot of them.
This week illustrated the need to expand both sides of the ball....to stop doing what we do week in and week out. The mentality of...this is what we do...now beat us......has to stop. Tomlin needs to evolve as a HC. Find the weakness in the opponents offense....defense....and exploit them. Going into every game with the mentality of....this is what we do....stop us....beat us... perhaps it is time for change. This starts with Tomlin. We will see going forward I guess.

They have defense and run game if you have to it will travel.
Neither seemed to travel to Philly.

The running game might not be all that, considering they're near the bottom of the league in yards per rush.

Defensively, they're pretty good up front, but the secondary is bad.

I'd honestly feel better about their chances if Russ had more options to throw to.

The secondary is bad. OK.

I agree. I don't think this is a finished product though I think they could win any game in AFC. This is however a major upturn.

Steelers could have been worse.

That is scary but true for a game where they gave up 400+ yards, 27 points but could/should have been 34, scored just 13 when 3 of those came on a muffed punt.

Eagles are just better at this point. Give us receiving help and more experience with this line and we may be just as good.

Sure. If the Steelers had a better offensive line, and better CB's, and better receivers, and better play calling, and better coaching, they would be better.

And if grandpa had t!ts, he'd be grandma.

It's not realistic to expect Tomlin to change much after nearly two decades.

Saying that, there might only be so much you can do against a top defense with basically a bunch of #4 WRs.

If there's a less impressive group of WRs in the league than the Steelers minus Pickens, I'm not aware of it.

Both Tomlin and Khan **** the bed "nursing home after taco night" style there.

I mean the Naj fumble was unfortunate. But you’d have to be a real, real homer to think we are better at this point than the Eagles. I mean…I thought our D ,wasn’t even that horrible today, but they put up 27. 128 yards in the air by Russ and 14 yards by Naj will not win us games. You can see the difference of having 2 WR’s obviously. Brown and Smith are a nice one,two punch. We had to be way more aggressive offensively.

I don’t know how many times on here we all said….if George goes down we are up **** Creek. From early off-season on. For all the accolades Kahn has received…..this has turned out to be a huge fail.

All in All I won’t get too down on today’s game. I hope the players heal up during the week. Big game on Saturday.
TJ’s effort and effect on our team is so special. Let’s hope he is good.
Should of drafted Brian Thomas in first round..
Oh .. and BTW… they kicked our rear ends tonite..

If Tomlin can't change....then we simply can't win it all. I hold out hope that he learns from his failures....adapts...and grows. Otherwise it will be another blow out lose in the playoffs.

Tough loss but not shocked. 10-4 leading the Divison playoffs locked up. They have already exceeded my expectations. Good to see all the ******* back on the forum to cry. Haven’t heard much from you lately. Hopefully we get healthy and win a playoff game or 2.

The offense was not good, but its hard to get in a rhythm when the D cant get off the field. The Najee fumble was unfortunate, but there is a way to prevent that which is not run the stupid toss plays that lose yards 99% of the time. The oline was not good and playcalling did not help that. We could not seem to tackle. I dont really blame Russ or the WRs I think they could have been good enough or at least competitive if we had a competent game plan.
