Initial Thoughts on rats Game

So when player tightropes the sideline to make a catch, gravity takes care of the football move
It depends on what happens to the ball. If he's tight roping the sideline, or toe tapping, then the football move is surviving the ground. If he gets two feet down, falls to the ground and loses the ball, it's incomplete. That's the key to the entire play, he lost control of the ball. He relaxed, Porter did not.

Sorry know not on topic but man football is changing. 10-10 game KC and Hou. KC goes for it on 4th down twice to basically give up the game. Your team has given up 10 points in three plus quarters.

Houston hasn't played well on offense, the Chiefs have just been worse tonight. Mahomes is 12/30 for 131 yards and 3 INTs. Absolutely love to see it.

Initial Thought:
How long will it be until Tomlin signs his next extension?

Other Thoughts:
1) The rules for what is or isn't a catch are absurd. Likely caught the ball with his hands (like you're supposed to) and deliberately kept the ball extended and held away from Porter while taking 2 full steps. Most of the time you want to bring the ball back in toward your body to try and secure it, but in this case, it made sense to attempt to shield it from the defender, which he did.
2) Is there a soul among us who, had that been ruled a TD, felt confident that the Steelers would come back in the last three minutes of this game after amassing zero yards in the prior 16+ minutes?
3) Not only did Porter's illegal contact penalty on 3rd-and-8 right after the two-minute warning hand the Ravens three extra points, it also allowed Baltimore to run out the clock at the end of the first half and prevent the Steelers from putting up any potential points. I'd like his apologists to explain to me why, precisely, they believe that Porter is having such an excellent season, because I don't see it.
4) You can safely assume that the Ravens beat the Steelers in week 18. They usually split, and this season will probably be no different.
5) If the Steelers do somehow manage to win the division, in all likelihood they will draw the Bills, and be embarrassed in the first round once again. But first we'll hear all about how Tomlin miraculously rallied his team to finish with another non-losing season and made the playoffs.

Always good to beat the rats. Pretty sure this would be Robert Louis Stevenson's favorite team.
What bothers me the most about this board is the lack of acknowledgment when a clever statement is made and is ignored in such a rude manner; it's simply criminal! I for one appreciate the reference and would love to see more of this from you in the future.

So, Austin finally understands.

DK Metcalf...gunner on special teams. Love the effort!

This is great effort, but why is he out there? If he gets hurt our #1 WR would be Austin / Gainwell. Our WR core would consist of Austin, Thielen, and MVS which is scary. Personally I think skrowronek should get more playing time he just seems to make plays

Appreciated DK‘s effort and wanting to be out there to make a difference on special teams. I have no problem with a starter doing that. They used to do it all the time back in the day.
That video clip actually changed my opinion of DK the player. He always gave me the opinion of being a me type kind of guy, but obviously he isn’t.
Great game yesterday DK keep it up!

While it was great to get the win against the Rats, the Steelers got the calls to make that happen. Thanks to the football gods for this game.

Special thanks for the great camera work on the sidelines, beautifully capturing the agony on that sanctimonious ******** Harbage's face when he writhed on hearing the TD overturned.

That said, it was a great game by Rodgers, Metcalf and Gainwell, but not much else on O. What was it that Theilen did that was better than Roman Wilson?

Jalen Ramsey looks more like Minkah did last season as each game evolves, way off the ball and arriving only post catch.

FWIW, if JPJ doesn't play all the way thru that catch, then it Likely would have been a TD.

I still don't miss Slay. I did miss Duggar.

Hope Mount Washinton and Peat get out of the protocol asap; nice to have one extra day this week.

We are done screwing around. We’re running the table!
If you mean ordering everything on the menu at North Shore Tavern then you may be right. But winning more then 2 more games this year I don’t think so.

Porter is good for 1~2 penalties every game. He’s a target for other teams

Absolutely. I thought it was a touchdown live and after replays. I'd be fuming if I was a Baltimore fan.

The fix was in, obviously the league had to step in to help keep the NHALS narrative alive…it’s his main storyline

It certainly appeared to be a catch. The Steelers were the beneficiaries of some fortunate rulings to help make this win possible

I’d feel bad if it weren’t the Rats getting screwed

We won.

The refs didn't want us to win.

The offense is to wishy washy for me.

The defense has to be more consistent.

Gainwell is the best RB on the roster.

Berm I’d give the refs a game ball
For their efforts helping the Steelers to victory 🤣

Ok. I'm not saying that it's not a stupid rule. But when the league and the CBS official analyst say its not a catch it's not a catch. Because the TV telecast team says it is......oh that's right Tony Romo and Jim Nance are officiating the SB this year.
I think the NFL needs to go with ACC transparency.
I called it "not a catch" right away - see game day thread.

The difference between a running TD and receiving TD is very different.

Running - ball only has to break the plane
Receiving - receiver must survive the catch. In yesterday's case - the 3rd foot never touched before the ball was dislodged...
