Initial Thoughts on washington game

I thought Queen was flying around the field at times today. Not a clean win but gutsy.

They asked Tomlin how much of the playbook Williams knew. He answered they gave him enough so he wouldn't be standing on the sidelines at the weightiest of moments 🤣. Welcome to Pittsburgh Mike Williams.

I loved the fake punt. Tomlin just didn't spew his bullshit, he really didn't live in his fears. I wouldn't have hated it if they had actually went for it on that last 4th down play. I LOVED the aggressive play calling. Tomlin wins coach of the week hands down. Although the game was a tad stressful it was fun as **** to watch. Again big shout out to coach T.

Not really sure how they would fare against the likes of the Ravens, Chiefs or Bills.
There really aren't any power teams in the AFC, not like usual. The Chiefs could legit lose every week and find a way to win. Buffalo is good, just not as good as previous years. The Ravens can look all world one minute, average the next. If there is a year to sneak up on a top 3 AFC team, this would be a good year for it.

That fake was an interesting call. Definitely not living in his fears on that one. It should have been converted if Pierre knew how to catch. The ball was about as good as you could have hoped and he started running before he had it.

TD catch by Pickens was beautiful awesome body control

what the **** was that with the fake punt that deep? I get it, you saw something you could exploit. It SHOULD have worked.... but damn not that deep in your side of the field

Daniels is better than caleb williams

Defense was great, then bad, then okay then.....they gave up some long drives the secondary had some big penalties but they played well overall

ballasy call on 4th and 1 in the 4th quarter...glad to see they did not try to get tricky and just pounded it for the 1st

they need to stop throwing deep to Van Jefferson and CAIII unless they are wide open....Pickens is open if only one guy is on him

Really nice to have Warren back healthy until the fumble

Williams' first catch is a HUGE TD...Welcome to Pittsburgh sir

Highsmith going down sucks...that looked bad

awesome stand on 4th down - too damn close though, I was sure they were going to give it to them.

washington ****** themselves out of a last chance by jumping offsides...no way were the Steelers going to snap it (I hope)

Love Victory Formation
I agree with everything 100%. Glad that we somehow gritted out a win. On the road. Against a top team. I tip my hat to Tomlin.

My take....Pickens is a special player. Offense got TD's(Wilson) instead of FG's....or we lose. Our D got soft on the long downs which hurt.

It's a game of inches. Ertz catch was inches short. If the refs give him the 1st we lose. I believe they made an incredible call. Live. Crazy actually.

A tough gritty game on the road where we were able to pull it out.

A statement win for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Today they can no longer be called pretenders. They are Contenders! BRING ON THE RATS!
The season starts next week. What we do down the stretch will decide if we are pretenders or not.

To keep shooting themselves in the foot, yet still maintaining their composure is a reflection of this team’s maturity.
It’s the good teams that are able to rebound from adversity during a game and win the damn thing.
Credit to Tomlin.
Right Lloyd?

Just a quick 'lol".

I was watching Big Ben's simulcast on youtube. Right after the goal line fumble recovery by WSH, Ben plays "Renegade" for the Defense...classic. Probably will get a copyright hit for it.

Anyhoo, Russ looks great. He's still a dangerous QB if we can keep the dogs off him.

Pickens is an amazing talent/*******. Oh well, often comes with the territory.

Jalen's gotta cover up the ball better in that instance.

Captain Cam had another great individual game. Love to see it.

Another observation.
Jayden Daniels. 3 rushes for 5 yards. No TD’s thrown.
He has tore the NFL up with his running this season. We definitely handled the rookie this game. We have great success with Lamar…..there’s no doubt that helps with this type of running QB.
Terry McLaurin gave our secondary fits. He has been doing that to secondaries all his career. A great WR.

By the way. Seems like the whole media and fans talk about Jayden Nonstop. There is another rookie QB doing better than him.
Bo Nix. Look it up. Well….at least right up there with him.

I didn't see that. I came back to TV when it showed the twist. Now I saw the replay on web...no bueno. It stayed bent like you're saying.
took a pic of it on my TV. Image isn't good but it looks really bent.

I :(

If I was Rooney, I’d send Goodell Watt’s contract terms and the replay of the endzone hold (and others) and say “We’re not paying him to be held. This is how we’ve structured our team and salary cap. If teams want to neutralize him, they can pay two players to do so.”

Defense looked like Swiss cheese for a couple of drives…then thy must have played Renegade for us at the beginning of the 4th!

Did Warren really fumble? Looked like a knee was down and certainly forward progress was stopped before it came loose.
Glad it didn't matter.

Highsmith injury always sucks, but going into the heart of the schedules really really sucks.

I did the same thing a couple of months ago. Put the whole ankle sideways on the floor. It felt broke initially. Took me 5 weeks to get right. I am 52. He is much younger than me. Hopefully he got lucky. The doctor told me thst an outside bend is better than an inside bend. We really need Highsmith to make a run. We were doing so good with injuries.
In my earlier years, i could bend both my ankles 90 degrees inward without breaking or tearing anything... but i couldnt run like that...
