Initial thoughts

The Steelers allow 21 pts per game average. There are 18 teams that allow more.
We are in the middle of the pack.

We allow way too many yds. though. 3rd worse.
But who cares if they cant score on you.
This is a Teryl Austin coached Defense! He was awful in Detroit and attrocious in Cincy in 2018. Why is he our DC? Good Question and not one I have the answer to.

Initial thought was Why spend 4 hours on a beautiful Sunday watching coaches and players that dont care as much as a random fan does.
I agree. I enjoy the Steelers as a fan. If they play well; great! If they look like ****, oh well. I’ve no control. it’s entertainment. Nothing more than that. I realized how impractical it is to get mad over something that in the end, doesn’t really affect me other than feeling good for a few hours. These guys win or lose are getting paid millions. They’ll be ok

Unless you’re a betting man. This game should have very little bearing on your life.

It is an addiction.

It's okay guys....MT is still winning. We WILL have a winning season. 4-3 now and likely 9-8 or 10-7. The casual weekend watchers that I personally know and knew from my former employment are more than happy with "a win". Or, at least they used to be when the Stains and Bungals lost all the time. I heard some boos during the game on TV, and I also saw MT looking more serious than usual on the sideline and doing some "coaching" of DJ. Maybe that'll help come Wednesday at practice. Here comes the "pads popping at practice" again....

At least we have Pittsburgh Dad and Fake MT to look forward to.

This was mentioned in the game thread but our last possession with probably nill chance of winning but a quick score and on side kick it's possible, Trubinsky just decides to dump the ball continuously probably because we have nothing open 15 yards down field against a prevent defense, are you kidding me. We'd have given up at least 3 20 yard gains if roles were reversed.

The way i see it, if we are essentially "waiting til after the season/mailing it in" before any meaningful changes are made to our scheme(s) (offensive/OL/defense)...

we ought to sit Kenny regardless of his health for his own welfare. He's not learning anything good from this experience.

My thoughts are that we've been winning games we shouldn't have and maybe that led some folks to believe we don't suck.

Only time will tell. Seems like the Steelers are content with where they are.

I thought I might have the Clowns losing to look forward to but they've closed the gap. 17-14 Hawks.

My initial thoughts…. This is a 2nd tier team that every once in a while finds a way to win because of a defense that makes plays some times. The offense is Sh*t and and the coaching is pathetic. Home they can almost every week look like they are not prepared is beyond me.

Bad field, crappy rain…. Slip and fall and slip and fall… no adjustments. I didn’t se Ethel Jags falling being they changed cleats. But not us. Guess we didn’t have extras.

Tomlin is a coach that inherited a GREAT team. Got lucky win a SB win and has each and every year since then gotten worse and worse.

His time and style of coaching is stale and old.

This team will NOT win another SB until they rebuild with fresh coaches

These guys get paid regardless of results. Nothing will change

This ^^^

Tomlin and co. get paid millions to lose. So losing is really not that big a deal.

Wonder how they would perform if they got paid only after wins?

Absolutely this. In 2012, I stopped watching them and did something useful with my time.

Why am I spending 4 hours every Sunday, Monday or Thursday watching a team that is going to be 8-9 or 9-8 or something incredibly close to that? At this rate, we may as well be Browns fans.

It’s not so much of them just getting paid regardless of outcome. But it’s practicality on my end. Like I always state. I’m a fan and will watch when I can and hope they win, but aside from that there isn’t really much in my control to really get emotional over. As a father, what example am I setting for my kids by yelling at the tv? I’m teaching them to ***** and complain when life isn’t fair. I want them to keep their head up and move on and learn. Sports do provide learning lessons but those learning lessons apply more when you’re actually apart of the team and actually playing. You become a part of something.

Now to kinda contradict myself. The Steelers have more meaning to older generations because they were a more community like fan base back in the 70’s-mid 2000’s imo. We hold onto sports teams for what it meant to us at a certain point in our lives. I get that aspect of fandom. However I think those memories are just that. Memories. Life changes and once meaningful things change especially through generations and revenue growth of franchises/leagues, things become more corporate and status quo.

Thats my approach with pro sports these days. Sum that all up. It’s just entertainment

Up and down all game but at end we just aren't what we fans thought we would see this year. Long way to go yet we have seen no progress on the offense, and it leads to the defense wore out.

Fell asleep before the 2nd period. Slept though the 3rd. Made some white chicken chili. It's a racist dish, but quite good..

Evidently I didn't miss anything. Checked the box score. Yep. Read some comments. Some thoughts...

Sports in general are vehicles for gambling. As such, its all 'fixed'. Don't delude yourself into believing the outcome isn't known. Refs are overseers. Probably doesn't pay that well considering the aggravation to manage hyperoverpaid brats bumbling around on the field.

The Steelers need a Steelers fan at the top. Artie isn't. There are billionaires out there who are. Vote Artie out; install one. Billionaires by nature are impatient. They incinerate mediocrity. That's among the major reasons they're billionaires.

The rest has been beaten to death. Fire blah, blah, blah. Fire (trade) everybody. Everybody. Find people that are serious about fixed sports and build a franchise that does the forbears honor.

This clown act is boring. The chili is great.

That chili does sound good
