Interviews for Steelers new head coach thread

A ton of focus on DCs so far for a team that either needs to draft and develop a QB or sign a rehab project. I was hoping to see a lot more offensive candidates.

Rams pass game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase
Rams DC Chris Shula
Vikings DC Brian Flores
Chargers DC Jesse Minter
Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver
Panthers DC Ejiro Evero
Packers DC Jeff Hafley
Yup, I’d like Kubiak.

If it has to be a defense guy I’d vote for Shula because I’d hope being under McVay he’d appreciate the need for balance, innovation, a great staff that is hungry to advance, and most of all not fall into cave man ball the way some defensive head coaches do who are risk averse

It’s Klint Kubiak and he’d be a great hire for the Steelers.
Klay Kubiak the OC for the Niners is the one they are requesting an interview with.
I’ve been focusing on his brother Klint the OC of the Seahawks.
Too many Ks for me!

Klay Kubiak is in his 1st year as 49ers offensive coordinator and they are 8th in total offense and 10th in points in the league this year.

He’s previously been with the niners as a quality control coach for offense, assistant QB coach, and passing coordinator

My first question is can we pretty please get a quality control offensive coach, assistant QB coach, and passing coordinator if we hire him???🙏

Maybe they can interview and hire brother Klint and he can hire Klay.

Plus we need to groom a long term QB, hiring a HC with an offensive background makes a lot of sense
I have zero issue with a defensive minded HC.... but he has to bring in an OC and let them do their thing. It is as simple as that.

but the HC is shanahan.

This is just like all those garbage coaches under belecheck who parlayed their team success into HC positions accross the league and fizzled out.

NO FLORES!! We need a fresh start we’ve carrying this Tomlin thing for 10 yrs! We need fresh face fresh start!

Ive never understood the need to swap Ks for Cs in names... it isnt cooler or anything.., and having a bunch of K's in your initials is probably a bad thing... especially if your middle name is also a K name... though in the Kubiaks case, both have KAK initials... which aint much better

Are you saying they might be familiar with some of them hollers in AppleAtCha?

The spelling with K instead of C may come from their ethnic background. In relation to the potential problem with the number of K's, Klay and Klint have a third brother named Klein.

I think I'm hoping they hire Shula, but also hire Scheelhaase as the OC. They both come from the McVay tree and would probably be a solid combo.

I don't know if Scheelhaase is seasoned enough yet to be the HC. I think teams are checking him out to consider him for the HC position, but realistically evaluating him for the OC job.

I get your point about Belicheat assistants they were awful, but then again the cheating…

The McVay tree and Kyle Shanahan tree look about the same tho right now, it’s pretty early to make a determination on if one tree is fools gold
