Iran

I haven't worn a uniform in over a half century, hell, it's closer to 60 years now, but if you want to know about 1970 and the complete clusterf**k that was southeast Asia, I'm your guy.

However, it's 2026 and I'll defer my opinions to Sarge regarding out military's capability as well as its shortcomings as he is the only one here with firsthand knowledge on the situation. But I would bet that our military is still hindered by politicians and bureaucrats that never laced a pair of boots, just like a lifetime ago.

What I can't comprehend are those here that seem to be actively hoping for failure without suggesting a solution.

What's that old saying, if you're not part of the solution, you're........

“Out of compliance” - source?

Again, low enriched uranium is what has been offered to the Saudis. Why can they be trusted but Iran could not in 2018?

I didn’t realize there was an agreement between the US and Saudi not to murder this journalist and they broke their promise.

Look, I don’t have complete trust any Islamic fundamentalist nation either, they are all scum, and I’m definitely not certain that this deal was the right thing for Trump to do, and certainly am not a cheerleader for Saudi Arabia.

But you asked why or how can we trust them. That question already rightfully implies their questionable misdeeds……and I gave you the answers on why we trust them based on mutual agreements and policies that we share on many levels.

That should be the end of the discussion.

The US has trusted Saudi leaders and all their actors to safeguard the USD by pricing their oil only in USD since the great Nixon, the revered Kissinger and the man behind the curtain George Herbert Walker Bush convinced them to do exactly that as the US currency abandoned the gold standard back in 1971.

This is clearly the most significant social, economic and strategic achievement by the US in global terms, because the strength of the USD, backed by petro-dollar recycling, and a few other things like aircraft carriers, arms dealing and illicit trade in Benjamins, has so clearly benefited the US at the expense of every other currency.

So, yeah, it's easy to understand American trust in Saudis.

I don't disagree that the passports very well could have been fabricated, as I do not trust the goobermint at all. But in this discussion, Flog is suggesting the goobermint is 100% truthful, so we're going with that.
