Wow absolutely amazing 1/3 of ships can get through with some taking damage along with the USA having to use massive resources to do so. I also believe this is a modified route going through the Oman side. If you want to count that as a big win then go for it. It doesn't change the fact that the straight should have been one of the top priorities as soon as this mess started.

Whether you like it or not, the US is now controlling the flow of the available and marginal supplies of oil around the globe.

That is a incredible, beneficial and hugely strategic accomplishment that seems almost completed.

If it was just about the oil then securing the straight should have been priority 1 after taking out defenses. We did not really attempt to secure the straight till long after the fact and have wasted billions of dollars doing so. We still have to escort tankers with ships and helicopters 5-6 months after we annihilated Iran for the second time in a year. I was not against going after Iran, but our plan or lack there of has been terrible.

pfffft. as if.
had iran completed a nuke, the IAEA would have called Flog and reported it directly to ze. then we'd all know. since that didn't happen, we can rest assured that iran does not have nukes and thus has negative nuke aspirations. they just want a way to create energy for their people.
