It's Ravens Week Pt II

I’m SURE home field difference from away makes a BIG difference to at least close to 70,000 rabid fans……..

All the players want home field and about 114 + million world wide would like them at home as well.

I myself as 1, would also like them at home field.

I hear yaz jitter77, but homefield in the STEELERS case would make a difference.

Salute the nation
The Rooneys would also like the home game as rumor has it they need the money

so the Eagles game wasn't meaningless....🙄
You said it changed " numerous" it didnt... whether we won or lost it... if we win vs the ravens Saturday the last two games meant nothing for tge division and if we lose Saturday, it was all coming down to the Cinci and cleveland game the final week...

Ultimately our losses right now ranked by importance:

Cleveland 1 by a landslide

Indy 2

Dallas 3
Eagles 4

And there is a chasm between Cleveland and indy and indy and the two NFC teams...

Had we hung on vs cleveland, any win or ravens loss would have clinched the division

If this all goes down to the last week and we beat cinci, and tie them in overall record, the reason the ravens will have lost was losing to the extremely important raiders while we lost to the less important colts and cowboys... they took a common opponent and afc hit...

Some games just mean more than others...

This was when we beat the Ravens in the playoffs on the road to Super Bowl 43.

Would a WC playoff win vs the Rats and then getting absolutely throttled (like game over by halftime) vs the Bills in the DIV round be enough progress???

Is an AFC championship game appearance even a possible expectation or would one need copius amounts of peyote to come to such an expectation? I may need an airdrop to get back on the bus.
I’d say 1 playoff win and a drubbing round 2 is status quo, keeps things how they are with fan satisfaction being luke warm

AFC Championship or better silences the critics- here’s hoping for it

I think an AFC championship appearance is a realistic possibility if Pickens is fit, especially if the Steelers avoid Buffalo in the wildcard and divisional rounds. Apart from Buffalo I don't think there are any standout teams in the AFC, and even Buffalo come with question marks.

The Steelers have already beaten the three teams in the Wildcard positions in the AFC (Denver, Chargers, Baltimore). Apart from beating Buffalo, Houston haven't done much against good teams. Despite their 13-1 record, Kansas have lost their only game against a team that currently has double digit wins (Buffalo) and have been scraping by against lesser opponents (their last win by more than 3 points was on 5 November and that was only by 6 points). Even Buffalo's record against good teams is patchy, but I think they are going to be the AFC playoff team the Steelers have most problems with.

If we beat Eagles we could have lost to the Ravens and then won either of our last 2 games and have won.

Regardless if the above is correct or not. My point was the Eagles game was not meaningless. It did have ramifications. If we would have won it would have given us other avenues to win the division without beating the Ravens.

At this point I’d say:

highly likely BUF throttles PIT

KC beats PIT 80%-90% but a little closer game cuz that’s what KC does

HOU an unlikely opponent as it would require an AFCCG matchup and home team would have a slight edge 60/40 (unless we go to their house in WC round and then a whole lotta sucking occurred down the stretch and I’d say 75/25 HOU cuz something wrong with the Steelers)

LAC or DEN are both improved from when we played them earlier in the season and won’t be easy outs even at home likely only a 60/40 edge to the Steelers.

BAL would be our best matchup as we own space in Lamar’s head and Harbaugh is one of the few coaches Mikey generally gets the best of as of late. 80/20 PIT advantage in a home game 60/40 PIT advantage in a road game.

I won’t be easy for this team to win 1 playoff game unless they get the POS Rats at home and then they’ll tap that a$$ but I wouldn’t be too confident in any other matchup. Winning 2 defies likelihood, winning 3 would need a lot of breaks/help and a SB?!?!
That’s a were dropping horseshoes out our A$$ type of luck happening.

Winning the division is a must to achieve a playoff win imo, did I mention **** the 🐀

Just making the 2nd round of the POs would be enough for most non-intoxicated fans & front office, for this year. A second game blow out wouldn’t be nearly as bad as we are use to bow-outs.

Next year should be two wins or 1-1 with loss being very controversial or close. Unless Art 2 has been replaced, an automatic 3 yr extension would be made. Then back to non-or-1-n-done seasons.

****, I need a Peyote blow-out just thinking of this being a possibility. It comes down to if I can perceive we have a chance to improve and Coach Tomlin’s history shows me ground hogs day over and over. This season gives me some hope but, keeps me teetering on ground hog or a win………………

Salute the nation

I think Steelernation is extremely spoiled. Noll and Cowher went close to 30 years without winning a super bowl. They are considered to be much much better coaches than Tomblin.

It takes the right coach and right qb to even come close to winning a super bowl. It doesn't happen all that often.

It’s time for a Bills or Lions Lombardi
Those poor ******** are really due

The Steelers should have to wait at least 15 more seasons to get another 1/32 is their share (under Tomlin) and sharing is caring…or do we have to back date that for the previous SB wins?

The good news is Mike will still be here 15 years from now 😀

I can’t imagine how many “AIR DROPS” will be needed for you, in that time period. Don’t fear as I have gotten my 36 cylinder 1912 engine running better (spark hits on 28 cylinders now). I will be able to make more & timely drops zero’d in on your drop zone to be within + or - 26 yards of direct hit (so be sure to account for accuracy when giving coordinates).

Also know that coordinates must be given in Peyote induced number/letters as that is how pilot will be reading them while in his Peyote induced piloting……………

It takes the right coach and right qb to even come close to winning a super bowl. It doesn't happen all that often.
The difference under Cowher was this team was relevant and competitive in the regular season AND playoffs, many years without the right qb. Winning the super bowl is hard, everybody gets that and I don't think the criticism of Tomlin is mainly about him not winning super bowls.

The problem/difference with "Tomblin" as you love to say in condescension to posters here that criticize him and call for his firing is under "Tomblin" this team has been irrelevant to competing for a super bowl for the past 7 years. That's my problem: anyone looking at this team the past 7 years would say its irrelevant and its play on the field shows its nowhere close to winning a championship or competing with the best teams in the league in the postseason-compared to Cowher who predominantly had this team a relevant factor in the postseason.

Yes I know "Tomblin" is going nowhere until he wants to due to the approach of ownership, it doesn't mean I half to like it or shouldn't criticize him. So yes "Fire Tomblin!"

Some games just mean more than others...
Why did you put Dallas below Philly? If we beat Philly it would have helped our SOV and probably gave us an edge for the #2 seed over Buf IF we were to win out. I saw Mahomes is playing this week. If he is gimpy at all I can see then holding him out against us. We would get Carson Wentz who has been abysmal.

I think it was me you quoted. Didn't say meaningless. I said it matters not. Not 1 thing can be done about it.
And in the grand scheme of things it matters very little to the Outcome of the season.
Lose to the Ravens? That matters way way more. How can anyone dispute this?

And in the grand scheme of things it matters very little to the Outcome of the season.

If we beat the Eagles we could have lost to the Ravens and still been a game up. I think it would have also guaranteed us of no worse than the 5 seed and a shot at the #2 seed. Of course beating the ravens seems to locks us to #3 unless KC or Buffalo tank.

Agree but we could also use 15 or 20 more posts regarding semantics... It's good for traffic

Agholor is out and Bateman is walking around in a boot. Flowers will be their only experienced WR so the TE will be getting targets. This won't be a surprise to anyone.
