That could have him slip pretty far in the draft this late in the process. I doubt things get cleared up before draft day.
How far does he fall?
not sure what the penalties in Georgia would be for street racing when a death occurs
could he end up behind bars for a few years?
Do we trust his decision making? I dunno. There would have to be indepth discussions. What if 1.17 ???
take or not ?

If he gets away with just misdemeanors in GA, he is very lucky. In Florida and many states, he would get a manslaughter charge due to the wreckless driving and a death resulting from it (street racing). That would mean jail time. These are two misdemeanor charges, maximum sentence is twelve months. Felony charges start over a year and are served in prison, misdemeanor charges are served in county jail. Carter has been charged with reckless driving and racing, not manslaughter although a death occured. I'm guessing if the DA thought involuntary or voluntary manslaughter was warranted Carter would have been arrested on one of those charges giving the DA a tool to bargain with for a plea deal.
If Carter's record is clean he's probably looking at probation, fine and community service. What Goodell will do probably depends on if the patriots or ravens draft him vs. the Steelers l.
I'd draft him at 17.

I'm sure the DA considered it but the people that died were in a different vehicle and the driver of that vehicle was twice the legal limit of intoxication. They probably have a good idea of what transpired and didn't feel a more serious charge against Carter was appropriate. If he gets away with just misdemeanors in GA, he is very lucky. Agreed and actually the driver of the other vehicle was a female I believe.Well he didn't cause the other guy to wreck, that's all on him. Now if he would have crashed into him or wrecked his own car and caused a death to his passenger, then yeah manslaughter. It's neither.
I believe the other guy was drunk and driving at the time. So it's more on him than anything.
This happened a month and a half ago, the DAs office has had plenty of time to review the investigation and decide what charges are appropriate. The DA usually comes in heavy so as to bargin and possibly reduce charges to avoid trial. Unless some new evidence or witness appears indicating Carter was more involved than the current evidence dictates, the charges will not increase.A lot is going to ride on what all they end up throwing at him. They don't have to charge him with much right away. But one thing is for sure is this bonehead move cost him million and a human
I think you kinda have to ask yourself this. If someone is not taking him 1-4 why are you taking him at 17? Is his offense less serious at 16? Now I realize there becomes a tipping point where the reward would outweigh the risk but I'm thinking that is outside the first or where he should have went. What if 1.17 ???
