Reuniting with Flores and DB coach Alexander
Kenneth Walker is getting more than double that, with almost $29 million guaranteed. 7 mill with 10 guaranteed for Gainwell, the Steelers' 2025 team MVP, doesn't seem that high to me. Especially given their lack of depth at the position.4.25 for Pierre is cheap, even if he ends up being a solid backup. Gainwell for $7 million is on the high side, which most felt would happen.
Exacty WTF.Like Gainwell, another departure that makes little sense to me. The Steelers don't believe that Pierre is worth $4.25 million a year? But Watt is getting ten times that? WTF.
Pierre wanted to start, PIT had him as a third DB. It was the reason they signed Samuel on a 1 year deal, plan B if Pierre signed elsewhere. Didn’t matter, they had Dean on their FA radar. Pure cover corner.Like Gainwell, another departure that makes little sense to me. The Steelers don't believe that Pierre is worth $4.25 million a year? But Watt is getting ten times that? WTF.

He put up ok numbers, they seemed great because our offense was so anemic. Under 600 rushing yards, 73 receptions was impressive, until you see that it was for only 486 yards...6.7 yards per. He was a hair over 1000 total yards. He came up big in big moments, but overall it was an ok year, not great...4.25 for Pierre does seem cheap
Wouldn’t have minded him returning on a deal like that
And you’re spot on
7 for Gainwell in this RB market seems high, even given his performance last year. He put up great numbers because he was our WR2
They signed Dowdle... We're fine at RB.Hate to see Gainwell leave. Now we are short at RB.
Did you see what Travis Etienne signed for ? 4 years 52 million. Don’t see the guaranteed part of it. Way more than I thought he’d get. The guy picked right after Najee, cashing in.Kenneth Walker is getting more than double that, with almost $29 million guaranteed. 7 mill with 10 guaranteed for Gainwell, the Steelers' 2025 team MVP, doesn't seem that high to me. yeah but what are they gonna do with 12 picks. They can only keep a few of them.Steelers are buying low and letting go talent instead of getting in to bidding wars, I guess that's ok, But Pierre being a more than decent spot starter AND a ST ace should be worth those 5M easily. I would have kept him, I mean way ahead of killebrew for example
Yeap, they bet on Samuel who's younger and cheaper.yeah but what are they gonna do with 12 picks. They can only keep a few of them.
Also, the first half of the season we were complaining he was touching the ball too much. Good player who made some terrific plays late, not a make-or-break RB.He put up ok numbers, they seemed great because our offense was so anemic. Remember, its the Players decision where to sign... the Steelers may well have matched that and he may still opt to follow the coach.. the DBs really liked that guy... i was surprised he left, I thought he would have been one of the retained coaches for sure... though I guess he wanted to work with Flores again...Like Gainwell, another departure that makes little sense to me. Yep... 53 man rosters are extremely small for football... 11 starters on O and D.. 22 altogether... if every spot gets one dedicated backup that is 44... add in a k, LS, and P that is 47... then a Qb3 that is 48.. now you have 5 spots for extra depth..yeah but what are they gonna do with 12 picks. They can only keep a few of them.

Those numbers in Mike’s offense with a chicken **** scared to death QB that had to get the ball out in less than 1.5 seconds are way better than “ok” numbers.
He was our best weapon by a mile and those numbers are great wearing those shackles.
When given more reps he showed what he is capable of.
