I'm not sure how fully guaranteed contracts would help unless there is verbage that says you can't get a new deal till the old one is up. I could see teams giving out shorter contracts. I think you would see a lot of 2-3 year deals which could benefit the team and player. If you play great you will get a big raise. If not the team won't be as handicapped with dead money.

And until contracts are fully guaranteed.....the owners can drop the player in a blink of an eye. It is what it is though. The players Union signs on the dotted line every CBA negotiations without this one thing not there and then complains about it not being there. Wonder what the players would have to give up to get fully guaranteed contracts?

Their demands of huge money would have to come down.

Joey continues to say his back is a problem causing some to think it is a convenient thing.

Insiders are saying he is fighting to play week 3 against Cincinnati.

Joey may also is trying to push a trade and in order to do that he has to prove healthy, then he would have to play for the Steelers by contract.

He is in a catch 22 situation that he himself has caused (daddy didn’t anticipate this).
