John Harbaugh Fired

My bet and fear is Robert Salah from SF. He was too brash and bit off more then anyone can chew with Jets. But. look out.
Sorry Sask but I don't see Saleh getting another HC job during this cycle ........ San Frans DEF is not even close to as strong as it was during his earlier tenure with the team

Supposedly 9 teams have made inquiries…there aren’t that many openings.

Giants, Browns, Cardinals, Raiders, Falcons, Titans

You can exclude the Ravens, Steelers, Bengals, Rams, Seahawks, Eagles, Bears, Panthers, 49ers, Lions, Chiefs, Broncos, Patriots, Jaguars, Texans, Chargers.

I could see the Bucs, Bills, Dolphins, or Packers as one of the teams with a coach who has made contact.

Im also sure his recent record vs The Steelers may have something to do with it, yeah he won that playoff game last year, but even counting that his record vs us since 2020 was 3-10....

The Packers are one of those sneaky teams that could cut ties with a decent coach post playoffs..

This is not good. Harbs bungled decisions more than Coach Tomlin. Bisciotti is expert human resources.

Harbaugh tied himself to Lamar. It worked a bit statistically but it was empty. Lamar is a fantasy QB and doesn't win the big games in the playoffs. Good teams don't leave guys wide open just because a QB scrambles.

Lots of online rumors that Lamar has become lazy. He rarely practices and makes the team practice later in the day because he's not an early riser. Also seemed he wanted Monken fired. He should be buying that guy a car. Monken managed to get Lamar to at least play somewhat from the pocket.

I heard Miami may be keeping McDaniel because they are still stuck with Tua so they may not be able to get a top candidate.

I didn't say coaches can't be traded, I said a no trade clause isn't needed because teams can't unilaterally trade their contracts, like they can player contracts. Or in other words, I said the coach has to agree to a trade even if there isn't a no trade clause in his contract. I'm also not sure what unions have to do with anything, as I made no comment about whether or not coaches have a union. There have been coaching trades, but I think you'll find the coaches have to agree to a trade and contract with the new team.

"When coaches are traded, it doesn’t happen the same way players are traded. Typically the coach’s contract doesn’t get shipped to a new team. Instead, the two teams agree on compensation (draft picks and/or cash) that would be exchanged if the new team works out a contract with the coach. If that happens, the current team releases the coach in exchange for the compensation."

So basically, a no trade clause isn't needed, because the coach can't be traded if he doesn't agree a contract with the new team.
Ok that would make sense on how it was explained to me when they were talking about it months ago... that it was a basic contract Tomlin had...

I don't understand the Tua hate. He had a pretty bad year, but in 22,23, and 24 he had a passer rating above 100. In 23 he threw for over 4600 yrds. In 24 he had almost 2900 yrds, 19 TDs, and 7 ints in only 11 games. Injuries of course are an issue, but he has been pretty good most years.

Yep really was an elimination game for one of the two.

Somehow I feel like the Ravens might have lost the battle, but won the war.
Weird season. Two Ls that turned into flukey Ws against Baltimore. Harbaugh was a blessing, sad to see him go. What a moron but now that he's gone easier FOR Art to FIRE TOMLIN 🔥

You don't watch any Baltimore football. Lamar rarely leaves the pocket. And def hurt this year, he looked super slow

Harbough has won 4 playoff games since Tomlin’s last playoff win.. yet he’s fired and here we are stuck with Tomlin and if they somehow beat the Texans, it’ll be celebrated like a SB win.
Harbaugh also won at least 1 playoff game in 9 of his 18 seasons, Tomlin won a playoff game in only 4 of his 19 seasons. Harbaugh has a winning record in the post season, Tomlin has like a .414 winning percentage in the playoffs. Tomlin gets a pass for his post season failures because he doesn't have a franchise QB, Harbaugh won a Super Bowl with Joe Flacco. Oh and Harbaugh totally embarrassed Tomlin and the Steelers in the playoffs last season to a "historic" level.

His playoff success does point to him being the better coach IMO…
