John Harbaugh Fired

No trades causes are boilerplate for those contracts..it isnt some unique thing for MT ...it just means coaches have some say if a teams wants to trade them... they get waived when trades do happen.
Wonder how many HCs actually have that clause?
I do not think it’s in the best interest of the organization to include that clause.
Limits the team to what team they can trade with.
Example, if they had taken the call with the Bears last year and the offer for Tomlin was so good it could have jumpstarted a Steeler rebuild, Tomlin can simply mix it.
I would never agree with that as an owner and if Tomlin balked, oh well.

Harbough has won 4 playoff games since Tomlin’s last playoff win.. yet he’s fired and here we are stuck with Tomlin and if they somehow beat the Texans, it’ll be celebrated like a SB win.
Harbaugh also has had a two-time MVP since 2018, which coincidentally was Ben's last prime year. It takes a great QB in this league to win at the highest levels?

His agent, Bryan Harlan, told ESPN's Adam Schefter that in the first 45 minutes after Harbaugh was fired Tuesday, he received calls from seven NFL teams expressing interest in his client. There currently are seven NFL head coach openings, including Baltimore's.

It’s the one thing I would insist upon if I was negotiating contracts as a GM. There would be absolutely no clause that says you can’t be traded. The GM’s job is to make the team better. Trading is one of the biggest options possible.

Is it true that Tomlin has a no trade clause or is that rumor?

Why is Miami holding on to McDaniel? I would have thought he’d be one of the first to go.
Plus the guy in NY, Aaron Glenn. I know, first year coach but he’s not good. That team quit a long time ago on him so I would have thought he’d be one and done.
Not impressed with these two.

So Baltimore wants to rehire him?

Long-term coaches often have problems when they are told to change staff...

I'm actually going to miss Harbaugh from a rivalry perspective. Like Billick before him, a guy easy to dislike on the other sideline. As each year goes by, there's fewer and fewer of those classic names on the other side of the rivalry that make it special. The same can be said for the Steelers roster as well.
Agreed 100%.
However, I disliked Brian Billick 10 times more than Harbaugh

A no trade clause wouldn't be needed. Players can be traded unless they have a no trade clause because the players' collective bargaining agreement provides for trading of players. There's no similar overarching agreement for coaches, therefore teams can't unilaterally trade their coaches' employment contracts, unless a clause allowing the team to trade the coach is specifically included in that coach's contract.

Incorrect. Coaches can be traded. Coaches typically have no trade clauses, though a few have waived them.. like Herm Edwards or Gruden... but most coaching" trades were more tampering payoffs... like with Billy Cheats...

And Coaches have their own union... the NFLCA

I didn't say coaches can't be traded, I said a no trade clause isn't needed because teams can't unilaterally trade their contracts, like they can player contracts. Or in other words, I said the coach has to agree to a trade even if there isn't a no trade clause in his contract. I'm also not sure what unions have to do with anything, as I made no comment about whether or not coaches have a union. There have been coaching trades, but I think you'll find the coaches have to agree to a trade and contract with the new team.

"When coaches are traded, it doesn’t happen the same way players are traded. Typically the coach’s contract doesn’t get shipped to a new team. Instead, the two teams agree on compensation (draft picks and/or cash) that would be exchanged if the new team works out a contract with the coach. If that happens, the current team releases the coach in exchange for the compensation."

So basically, a no trade clause isn't needed, because the coach can't be traded if he doesn't agree a contract with the new team.

If we win,………. It will be the closest we’ve been to a SB in a very long time……..
