And for the record, the defense gets paid too. I mean you can say Ben didn't target Claypool, but maybe the Titans took him out of the game.

So the complaint here is that the Steelers are throwing to the guy with the best matchup instead of forcing it to a particular guy?

He has rare agility and quickness, and he knows how to use it to avoid press coverage.
He's extraordinarily gifted as a pass catcher and route runner, but he is not yet reliable in either area, and may never be.
My only negative us that Ben DID force it several times. And 2 of them were picks.
All Pro ceiling?
Given Johnson lack of durabiity, it would not surprise me if he was limited our out for the next game. The guy has thin build and pin legs, a what they heck type of football IQ, and unreliable hands. Yes he has talent. Lots of players do. You give Claypool 15 targets he's getting a lot more than 80 yards.
The Steelers offense seems unable to call play action or execute a screen pass well. Why is a good question.
This was a tough game for Claypool. He's a rookie, and the Steelers went spread, quick pass attack. It is not Claypool's strength. He needs to work on his short routes. He's better in space and on deeper routes. Same with Washington.
DJ eats these routes up, so does JuJu. They were targeted because they were open.
Time to start giving DJ some credit instead of worrying about why Claypool couldn't get open short?
i still have no idea how people don't see that DJ is really good. People act like he drops every other pass and never makes big plays. I also don't understand how people don't see that DJ brings an element to this offense that no other WR can bring with his ability to get open quickly on the short throws and to make people miss in open field.
Not sure why we have to ***** about one guy to prop another up, they all have their areas they excel and make us a much more versatile offense, thats all I care about. Claypool is a rookie, people are petty naive if they thought he was going have huge game after huge game every week
