It's being reported on Fox that Kennedy is stepping down on July 31.

I can all but guarantee, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi will do what they can to apply the breaks. There may or may not be enough time to get the vote in. It will be big time tug of war.

I think Trump will get three in his first term. I think Ginsberg is ready to walk away, but she knows the consequences if she does. She will likely die on the bench, or if she lives long enough, at least hang out until the next liberal is elected President. I don't see that before 2024, but you never know.

The House has no role in the confirmation process, just the Senate. Unlikely Dems take control of Senate. They would need to win basically all of the close races - Florida, West Virginia, Arizona, etc.

Kennedy was a moderate conservative who sometime went liberal.

This chart is interesting, the way I read it below 50% is conservative on the issue, above 51% is liberal.

Kennedy rules with Conservatives more often than on 5 of the 7 major categories.

Criminal Procedure = A higher number means pro-defendant votes in cases involving the rights of persons accused of crime, except for the due process rights of prisoners.
Civil Rights = A higher number means more votes permitting intervention on First Amendment freedom cases which pertain to classifications based on race (including Native Americans), age, indigence, voting, residence, military, or handicapped status, sex, or alienage.
First Amendment = A higher number reflects votes that advocate individual freedoms with regards to speech.

While rump can appoint a more reliably conservative judge, he could generally count on Kennedy for the big votes.

Now if Trump Replaced Ginsberg or Breyer, the court will remain conservative for decades....insulating us from far left leaning president if one were to be elected again.

Pelosi has no say in this. The senate will have enough republicans to push it past 50 votes. There is plenty of time to get it done. Even if they don't the dems aren't taking the senate. They'll probably lose seats in the senate.

As it should be. BHO appointed far left wing liberals why shouldn't Trump do as he pleases? I promise you if Clinton had won there wouldn't be any liberal crying for a moderate to replace Kennedy.
