I agree I think he has just totally lost his confidence. We just need to hope he gets it back. McFadden was a decent CB for us but as soon as he lost his confidence he was done, never got it back.

There are plays where he is close enough to his man to make a play, but he just doesn't seem to be aware that the ball is coming or something.. He is terrible... How bout my man Willie Gay though... First time in 7 years I've seen him actually jump a route and pick one off like other NFL corners do... Way to go Willie!!!

Very true. He is a major liability and teams know it too. The only thing that will save the team with him covering is a good pass rush.

His ball skills make Ike look like Antonio Brown. That dude is in position on quite a few, but as the ball approaches he seems to spasm and lose control of his arms and hands.

Cortez is a casualty of the new emphasis on defensive holding penalties. He played using his hands a lot to feel the receiver. Now that the zebras and the league have focused on this (and earlier in the year, he had tons of illegal contact penalties) hes suffering and has had a hard time adjusting. He didnt become bad overnight IMO.
