Kendrick green traded for 2025 sixth rounder

I really like Khans approach to excess players… for years we never really shopped guys … trades happened either when the player forced our hand or another team made an offer to us… he seems to understand what kind of players hold value as either refurbs or needs and really gets good value…

Who is the Texans GM?
That’s right, nobody knows his name
Cuz he sucks out loud

Huge win for Khan/Steelers

Makes ya wonder if Colbert was just being lazy:complacent cuz Omar can trade a **** sandwich for a cookie at the lunch table

Quite possibly the largest stain on the Colbert era, waiting til round 3 to draft an undersized guard when Creed Humphrey was sitting there in R2.

Kendrick Green was drafted because they decided to draft Najee. In order to justify drafting Najee, they had to find a starting OL in Rd 3 so they talked themselves into Kendrick Green being able to start at C as a rookie.

Coolie, we can’t seem to get away from Kendrick Green now with our home team Texans. Oh well, at least he’s the hell away from the Steelers.
Be interesting to see how they use him but betting it won’t be center. Most likely backup guard since that’s what he played at Illinois.
I like the sixth round pick in 2025 which gives us back that pick we gave to the Rams in the Big Dot trade. Now we have two fifths and our sixth back for 2025.
Who the hell can we dump for a fifth in the 2024 draft to get that pick back?

Khan > Colbert

Sorry, Colbert in my opinion was just lazy. He seemed to never try to get anything for guys we were going to cut. a 2025 6th round is the equivalent of a 2023 7th but it is still better than nothing. If you trade a guy for a 2030 7th round pick you were going to cut it is still better than nothing. Football is a game of inches and I don't think that ends on the football field. These little trades will add up to something big.

I think Steelers old approach was to release the player to let them go find the best deal/situation for them instead of trading them.

Cons....My Prediction of KG being a FG/G/C who laid people on their "Arse" & being a Fan Favorite just got annihilated.

Pros....Seeing all my boyz on this board celebrating that Khan got KG's "Arse" out of town

It was like nails to the eyeballs seeing him fail on routine stuff

Colbert's style worked for a long time, but the magic wore off and his conservative approach wasn't enough. The new regime has completely modernized the front office and almost immediately it appears to have become one of the best in the league. It'll be interesting to see how aggressive Khan gets in future years moving players and picks. This was a great move for a player who was a lock to get released.
