you must have missed the first Game Ben came off the Bench as a rookie. In what way?? You're talking about a guy coming off the bench. Premature much???
So to be clear his being in the NFL has little to nothing to do with Deion being his dad. Its actually foolish of someone to say that considering his draft status dropped likely because of who his dad was. Theres more then enough evidence to support this considering he was initially projected to be a first rd pick till Deion became outspoken about what type of team he wanted his son to play for. I think there was actual collusion to make an example of him at that point.you must have missed the first Game Ben came off the Bench as a rookie.
Ben
12 of 20, 60% comp%. 176 yards 2td 2 pks and a 82.5 qb rating. Loss to the rats, then went on to win 15 in a row and win rookie of the year.
Sanders
4 of 16, 25% comp%,47 yrds, 0td 1 pick and a 13.5 qb rating. loss to the rats
Yeah I'm being premature. If Deion wasn't his daddy he would be sitting at home right now.
so yeah watching Sanders today makes me feel all warm and fuzzy about how special Ben was.
to be fair I was actually one that was pulling for him in college. watched every game that I could. it became painfully obvious that his receivers really carried him for the most part. and I think he benefited from a very weak schedule for the most part also. I just don't think he could have cut it for a team like AL, OSU, Georgia ect. Sanders threw a lot of 3 to 5 yard completions. So to be clear his being in the NFL has little to nothing to do with Deion being his dad. Second the guy was the offensive player of the year in his conference, and had multiple player awards in his senior year. So I wouldn't say hes in the NFL at all because of his dad as much as his own plays on the field.
As far as you comparing him to Ben I mean unless all things being equal its also a foolish comparison. Unless you can somehow show this Cleveland offense was just as good if not better regarding personnel and coaching ypu sort of have to wait to see a larger body of work.
I have an extremely hard time believing you have 2+ years of tape on a guy who is believed by trusted and well reputable draft analysts and draft experts as being a 1st rd pick and drops all the way down to a fifth rd and its not directly related to health issues/legal issues. thats beyond fishy.to be fair I was actually one that was pulling for him in college. watched every game that I could. it became painfully obvious that his receivers really carried him for the most part. and I think he benefited from a very weak schedule for the most part also. His draft position dropped because he was not a first round talent. they were practicality begging someone to draft him, and if he was truly a talent he would have been take earlier regardless of his dad or his own personality. IIRC people were saying that even his interviews sucked ***. Tomlin passing on him should say it all.
Maybe i will be wrong it's been known to happen. but it doesn't change what I said about watching his first game against Bens first game making a person see how truly special Ben was.
you know what you win Sanders is the next coming. probably already fitting him for his jacket. how in the world could I have thought that Ben was a special player after watching sanders today obviously I have no Idea about QB's or football in general for that matter.I have an extremely hard time believing you have 2+ years of tape on a guy who is believed by trusted and well reputable draft analysts and draft experts as being a 1st rd pick and drops all the way down to a fifth rd and its not directly related to health issues/legal issues.
People can be gullible and naive as they want, but theres no way the NFL wants teams drafting a player thats going to set what they perceive as a bad precedence for the league which is parents/players dictating where players go and holding teams hostage and making a mockery of the draft process or the NFL as a whole. If you dont think there was some sort of collusion at play then I got swampland in Antartica to sell you. If its the interview process that set him back that still has nothing to do with his ability on the field and it still wouldn't be 4 rds after initial thoughts of where most believed he would go.
As far as you stating he had a 3-5 yd completion avg im curious to see what his actual yds were before and after catch before I would believe anything like that. I have a hard time believing once again he would be receiving top QB awards/recognition with those type of numbers.
As far as comparing him to Ben maybe Ben wouldn't have had the college career he had if he had played at a Power 5. Who knows? If its any consolation to you apparently Shedeur had multiple offers to play at a Power 5 conf school ( Florida, Michigan, LSU, Oregon, Alabama) so apparently they thought he was able even if you dont.
Furthermore if I was rooting for Shedeur I couldn't care less what another man did or does for another team. Like I said unless all things were equal it makes no sense to make a comparison like that unless its to Dillon Gabriel.
You're the one that compared him to Ben instead of comparing him to his actual rookie teammate which is the only one you could actually compare him to. No one is fitting him for a gold jacket but theres a lot of QBs that took years to figure it out before they became "special". He might very well be as bad as you assume and what you believe other teams saw prior to the draft. Its a bit much if youre making that assessment after 2 quarters of work.you know what you win Sanders is the next coming. probably already fitting him for his jacket. how in the world could I have thought that Ben was a special player after watching sanders today obviously I have no Idea about QB's or football in general for that matter.
Please forgive me for my ignorance and for my opinions.
Have a great week you all knowledgeable football God you...
Hence why I made the comment about him making me realize how special Ben was. you could insert a dozen Rookie QB's into that comment. Ben was truly a special QB and you could see it from game one. You're the one that compared to Ben instead of comparing him to his actual rookie teammate which is the only one you could actually compare him to. He still got chipped a lot...Not today.

I don't know Nix was good the end of last year and were down 19-0 in the 4th to the giants this year. They were able to score 33 points in the 4th to win by one. They beat a desperate KC and team and the Eagles, lost by 1 to indy and 3 to the chargers. I think they are a very solid teamGood game winning drive, but Nix’ advanced stats are mid at best. I think they’re a one and done in the playoffs. Remind me of that ’83 Steelers team with Stoudt, who also started 9-2.

It frustrates me to no end that we NEVER get to see Heyward, Benton, and Harmon on the field at the same time. When we drafted Harmon and they named him a "starter" that he would help take pressure off TJ, but he's rarely on the field. Averaging 50% of all defensive snaps, while Benton and Heyward eat up the majority in this nonsensical 2 DL scheme. We can't even say it's because we run a 3-4, because we are barely in that. TJ has admitted that he needs to play better, but they are still not helping him one bit.
The scheme is outdated. It will always frustrate because it is flawed. But even more so on top of that is they don’t know when to run what. How to X and O their way to notable success . As long as those in game deficiencies exists you will see the roller coaster that is the Pittsburgh Steelers. It frustrates me to no end that we NEVER get to see Heyward, Benton, and Harmon on the field at the same time.
