I should've worded that post differently. I mean in terms of McNair not regressing after his physical skills diminished, he did not change in his efficiency as an NFL level QB. In fact, and to your point, he became more of a cerebral pocket passer and was still effective.
IMO McNair doesn’t get enough credit for his career. Yes he played for our nemesis teams when he was a Titan and a Raven. But he was a great player and tough as nails. Carried the offenses for both teams on numerous occasions and against Pitt. I remember him suffering a severely bruised sternum during play and still going back in. Bruised sternums are very very painful and you can’t just get a shot to kill the pain. Doubt he makes the HOF, but he was a player.
