Let the Mocks begin.......

From reading the tea leaves, I am getting the feeling Omar will select Sanders in the first round (possibly trading back with Houston, Buffalo or Kansas City - not my most favorite outcome) and then make a move up for either Harmon or Alexander in the second. Harmon would be my bet. Then take best RB available on their board at 83.

Not sure they would trade down if they wanted Sanders. I could see a trade down then draft another QB later…

IMO they would stand pat if Sanders was their desire.

Depends on how toxic Sanders appears to other teams and how fixated the Steelers' brass are on him. The Steelers front office seems to love a wounded duck at this time of year. There appear to be plenty to feast on. If they lose out on Sanders in the first and Dart has also disappeared, it will be on to Will Howard in the third and best Defensive Lineman in the first (with some additional draft capital to spend depending on where their next potential wounded duck falls on their board). I would move back in the first round of this draft (if a potential dance partner emerges), unless Jeanty is on the board at 21. The Steelers have lots of holes to fill and many above average players to choose from between picks 10 and 50 (many of whom are ranked in the same bucket - it just depends what position you are shopping for DT, RB, WR, DB, or OL). Trading back makes sense, if anyone is willing to move up.

I'm gonna puke if they take any QB this draft. I personally would be trading for picks in 26 draft and pick an actual true franchise possible QB. unless someone feel to the third this year. Sanders will more than likely only amount to a backup in the nfl. another wasted first round pick..

need to know who has extra 2nd rd picks who might want to trade #1 spots with us
Bears has two extra 2nd rounders but not sure that they would be open to business. Of course Seattle but they are rebuilding. I would say a slim chance with the Bears… that is all.

Seriously have you guys seen a vid on Darius Alexander? Toledo. Holy crap.

Makes me wonder if Harmon is getting the hype because he is at oregon vs Toledo.

This just gave me the chills because I read about him today and thought that he could be had in the 3rd. So, get your uber accurate QB at 1.21 and then monster DL w/ the 83rd pick...

I hear you brother.

I just want to know the names of these 'better QBs' in next years draft. The only one I can think of is Carson Beck and he is no better then the guys this year IMO...

Dart might be that “rookie contract” quarterback, willing to take out a flier on, keeping in mind they still plan on a QB next year.

The guessing game is all over the place to the degree of maybe the STEELERS don’t even know the direction they want.

I’m sure they have contingency plans all down the board, I just hope things fall our way and we end up happy.!

Salute the nation

Manning - the vibe is he won't enter the draft after this year.
Iamaleava - the hype is based on his size and arm, but there are a lot of questions now how he handled his transfer situation.
Allar - looks the part, doesn't always play the part.
Nussmeier - started the year off great, slowed down once defenses started to figure him out.
Sellers - elite athleticism and size, dual threat QB but needs a lot of work to refine his game based on what I've read.

Next year's class is all hype at this point with little substance. There is potential, but they have a lot to prove and we'll see some fall off and others who aren't named rise. The reality is, it'll be an average QB class with a couple of legit top-10 picks and 2-3 others who are drafted too high because of "tools."

My mock for anyone that gives a rats arse!

21. Harmon DT Oregon
83. Sanker S Virginia
123. Martinez RB Miami
156. Kiser ILB Norte dane
185. Smith DT/E Alabama
229. Rucker Edge North Carolina

Heavy defensively on inside run support.
Our run defense has become comical and is an embarrassment to Steeler football !

Nothing is worse than losing a big boy football game by getting pounded over and over again by the oppositions run game!

And that happened way too many times last year.. all the way to the playoff game debacle!

My last one before the real thing. Harmon was there in the 1st and again, Caldwell was there in the 5th to get a DT and NT both from Oregon. Shough was there in the 3rd so I took him even though he will probably be gone in the 2nd round. Sampson is another speed back option. Nelson can play T and G. He is a big guy and this should be a value pick unless there is something I am missing on him. I snagged Wells as another WR to try as we don't know what will happen with GP.

I think this addresses the DL in a major way and grabs a QB with other complements to go with him for the O side of the ball. If Shough doesn't look the part, they may be back drafting another QB next year in the 1st round. LET"S GO!!!!!!!!

21.
Derrick Harmon
DT Oregon

83.
Tyler Shough
QB Louisville

123.
Dylan Sampson
RB Tennessee

156.
Jamaree Caldwell
DT Oregon

185.
Jack Nelson
OT Wisconsin

229.
Antwane Wells Jr.
WR Ole Miss

well Manning will probably be the first pick and our 9-7 record will not allow us to come close to him.

Drew Allar will probably be a very solid NFL QB, I think along the lines of Matt Stafford.

Cabe Klubnik

Nico Lamaleava might be the steal of the draft at QB he is like 8 ft tall sees the field well has an above average arm and can move around. if he was there this year at 21 I would be all in.

Carson Beck

The above would be my for sure first round guys, but I also really like Haynes King from GT. I dont think many have him going before the third round but I think he is the sleeper of next years draft.

I don't do real deep study on any player I just watch the games and see what I see, so I am in no way saying I would hit on any of them but these are the ones I think could be the QB that can get a team over the top. I believe all of them are better than whats there this year.

A lot of analysts believe Manning won't enter the 2026 draft. Klubnik is a good college QB, seems like a mid rounder. Carson Beck stinks.

Using the PFN simulator, three options for each round.

1.21
Derrick Harmon, IDL, Oregon
Jahdae Barron, DB, Texas
Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

3.83
Darius Alexander, IDL, Toledo
Kevin Winston Jr., S, Penn State
Cameron Skattebo, RB, Arizona State

4.123
Joshua Farmer, IDL, Florida State
Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Virginia Tech
Jackson Slater, IOL, Sacramento State

5.156
RJ Harvey, RB, UCF
J.J. Pegues, IDL, Ole Miss
Caleb Rogers, OT, Texas Tech

6.185
Zah Frazier, CB, UTSA
Clay Webb, IOL, Jacksonville State
Tyler Batty, EDGE, BYU

7.229
Kurtis Rourke, QB, Indiana
Trevor Etienne, RB, Georgia
Luke Lachey, TE, Iowa

What franchise QB you pinning your hopes on next year Nico??? Allar???
You have to trust your GM and assistant GM to set the boards correctly. If the BPA is QB shouldn’t wait until next year to pull the trigger and play that if maybe game. Way back when the Redskins drafted two QBs in the same draft. I am not against drafting in back to back years if need be…

Alexander and Farmer could both be excellent potential picks if waiting and not grabbing one in the first.

West could be a good later round pick as well.

This draft is so deep at DL there will be good UDFAs out there.

I really like this draft

I'm 1 for 1 on my last mock. I don't think I go any further than that as Shough will be long gone come the 3rd round. He, Sanders and even Milroe should all go in the 2nd.

If we don’t move up into the 2nd I kinda expect McCord in the 5-6 range.

But at least we got a DL piece to start out, can’t complain about that much needed addition.

The problem with counting on next year is that at this time last year, we might have been talking about Quinn Ewers as being that guy.
As of now, the top guys are...

Manning, who has never had the starting job and might only be getting the star treatment because his last name is Manning
Nico Iamaleava who is developing a reputation as a problem
Allar who looks like a QB until he starts playing football
And a bunch of guys who will jump up and down some draft boards between now and next April.

Not saying there should be a QB pick, but I wouldn't refuse to pick one if there's someone on the board they like.
