Let the rumor mill roll - bad QB version

Just think about it…
Throwing over the middle is dangerous-per Mike Tomlin.

Ya know what’s less dangerous than throwing? Running!!!

We need to fully commit and scrap
The run/run/pass/punt offense for the run/run/run/punt mixed with the run/run/run/run turnover on downs offense.

Warren may not be the best back for this offense though as turnovers are the ultimate betrayal to the new and improved less risky Tomlin run based offense.

We just need to trade Friermuth and Pickens for an extra OL and a RB. Put 7 OL and Washington at TE (top secret info-he’s only a blocker and any routes are just decoys). Go grab Chubb to play “QB” and flank him with 2 speedy RBs and go wildcat all game every game.

I don’t want to see a damn forward pass next year, it’s simply too risky.

Luckily we have the perfect OC to implement this new risk averse scheme.

SuperbOwl

Make it even less risky……………….. 4 plays ONLY, two of them being QB/RB sneaks.

Going to take a lot of Peyote this coming season…………….. good think I’ve got the additional “west 40” maturing into harvest.

If you have any extra, maybe spike Tomlin's drink... maybe he will be open to a couple passes over the middle then

Yes we shall invite the shaded one to a peyote den retreat where we ceremoniously slay a groundhog together and his new spirit animal which is not afraid of his own shadow will emerge. Will he emerge the crafty Fox, the powerful bear, the majestic lion it matters not as long as we kill the groundhog.

Chameleon, not because he is changing, but more-so to be hiding. Once the Groundhog is gone, he will have nothing to stand for and knows his days are numbered………………………..

I think we will see the non-acceptance of Groundhog Day displayed much more prominently this up-coming season.

Not sure Coach Tomlin could survive the Peyote Den characterization Lab Massacre. Between the two of us he would be very willing to retire and ride off into the sunset of life’s work. He will be spending more time in the lab, repairing false cut off eye lids of the fanboys he convinced of his tomlinships.

If they let Fields leave town and re-sign Russ then my exit from the NFL world will be complete.

Generally, I can't stand the NFL anymore bt I do still watch some of my Steelers games. If they trot Russ out there again next season, I won't watch a minute of NFL all year. I'm done with this Tomlin/Art2 **** show.

PS

As you and I experienced our “Spirit World”, we’d be enjoying the visions of a Tomlinship less, non-Groundhog Day celebrations with Lombardis being lifted throughout STEELERS Country populace.

Coach Tomlin on the other hand would be experiencing his Spirit World vision of NEW abc-building blocks (only 17 of them) and him dividing them into 9-7 pile, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over………… ___

Completely understand the sentiment…
BUT football season will begin with that beautiful Sunday where all the kickoffs happen and beer and chicken wings will be calling my name.

With tempered expectations I will choose to once again profiteer off of my most predictable employee Mikey Cool Shades Tomlin. It’s easy money betting Steeler games and beer and bar food shouldn’t be denied just cuz you are aware of the destination before the trip begins.

I'm seeing the tide switch again back to Wilson as the front runner and possibly the guy already. I really hope not. I'd rather have a guy now that has upside and could still be the future of the team. The only way Wilson makes sense to me is if they plan to draft a guy and have him learn from Wilson for a year or two.

Hurry up and make a decision already. We will know in under 2 weeks.

Im afraid incompetent owner Art II favors ole Russ so it looks like more of the same. Also looks like they may be bringing Najee back as well per reports. Could very well be more of the same next year.

I'm a Najee fan but he is not a good fit for the Steelers anymore. They need a homerun threat that even Warren isn't. Warren is quicker to hit holes than Najee but his 40 time was slower. We need a RB in the Fast Willie mold. 210 pounds who can run at least a 4.4, if not below that.

The crazy thing is Najee's longest career run is only 37 yards, that's crazy, and ridiculous for a 1st round pick.

It is but he also had the most (or close to the most) runs over 20 yards. Najee is a beast who has decent top end speed as he ran below a 4.5 but he is not quick like Warren. I'd love to have Warren and a 2nd back with close to 4.3 speed. I know it's a pipe dream but that would help the team alot.

Just saw an NFL Insider said the Steelers are not impressed with the QB's at the combine and it's close to a 0% chance the Steelers pick a QB in Rd. 1. He said the team is looking to move forward with Fields. I think that's the smartest move. I'd have an offer to him by Monday if he doesn't already have one. Get him on board ASAP so you know how to build the rest of the team. Similar to RB, I'd like the WR they draft to be around 6 foot with 4.4 speed or better who can play the slot and runs good routes. Maybe then, Tomlin will allow throws across the middle. Every team runs slants but not the Steelers.

I am SO happy Stafford is staying with the Rams. The only "old" dude we should sign is Wilson and even then, I think Fields is the best option.

It has always been Wilson... the Fields talk was from the media guys who want him... all the guys who actually talk to Tomlin mostly indicated Wilson was tge guy unless he opts to go elsewhere...

That also doesn't tell the whole story. He hasn't had many opportunities to break that long run. We aren't opening giant holes for him to run thru...people forget his average before contact is 1.82 on his career. That's crazy...

Barkley was 3.8 this year...

I'm not saying he's gonna break off 60 yards as often as Barkley, but putting that ALL on him is ridiculous.

Our line is crap, no debating that, but Walter Abercrombie, Ernest Jackson, and Frankie Pollard, all who played for us during the bad 80's all had career long runs longer than Najee, and averaged more yards per carry than him as well.
