I put this in another thread yesterday.

This draft would never happen but would love to see this. fix the offense in free agency

I've done this sim at least a hundred times, I get a lot of the same players, sometimes the same trade offers. This one I went aggressive with the counter offers, and while this is DEFINITELY NOT happening... this outcome was really fun.

That draft would be great particularly the first three picks. I try and mock without trades since the offers are usually inordinately too good to be real. Arizona offers #23 and #87 for #20? Yeah, sure.

You got 101 from Miami by dropping 9 spots in the first, I see. That is possible but I worry that Elam is gone to Arizona or Tampa before 29. Also, I would use pick 138 on an ILBer. I would love for Chenal from Wisconsin to fall to 138, but doubt he does so after his 4.53 40 and 40" vertical at the combine.

I am now mocking Elam at 20, Faalele at 52, and Chenal at 84. All three are major upgrades, likely available at those spots, and basically immediate starters. Would love to add Mathis to that group, but the Steelers have traded too much draft capital (4th, 5th and 6th rounders) to make that possible.

  • Get my CB, RT, LBer, upgrade DL, and two interesting late-round guys who contribute special teams and have skills that might work. Heigligh is a really good route runner, good hands, VanValkenburg a solid pass rusher.

A guy from Coastal…interesting..

The Dude's mock simulator the best one I have seen. Ranks players where they belong, no unrealistic trades when you put it on the strict setting. Very realistic ... and disappointing. Penning and Jordan Davis both gone before 20.

Linderbaum starts at C. "Oh, Green is a guard, will be good there." Okay, let's see. Mathis plays a ton and is the starting 0 technique later in the season, 2023 at the latest. Anderson is a physical freak, fast enough and big enough to match up with Kelce, Andrews, even Waller. ILB upgraded. I personally don't think Armour-Davis lasts this long because he is a legit dime CB early on, and certainly has the skills to play outside. 6'1", 191 lbs., fast, long arms, comes from a program that generates top-grade CB talent. The last two picks are developmental, particularly Thomas, but Austin intrigues me as a late-round WR. 6'2", 215 lbs., 4.42 40, not a great route runner. That can be fixed.

I think about the games against the Chargers, Chiefs and Raiders. How much different are those games with a genuine stud center, a disrupter at the zero, an athletic, fast ILB, and a fast, physical CB? Much different.

Anyone have a link to the post that had all of the different mock draft generators? I tried search and couldn't find it.

PFN Mock....

32. Zion Johnson, OG, Boston College
52. Devonte Wyatt, DT, Georgia
66. Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota
84. Quay Walker, LB, Georgia
97. Justyn Ross, WR, Clemson
138. Alontae Taylor, CB, Tennessee
223. Jaylen Watson, CB, Washington State

SCSteeler, great mock, and not just because it mirrors many of mine. Okay, yes, because it mirrors a lot of my mocks but still. Linderbaum starts today, Mechie a DAMN good WR (fast, turns on a dime, gets open) and available at 52 only because of the ACL in December, Anderson what the Steelers hoped Bush would be but isn't, and Evans a bargain at 138.

Berm, two C's with late round picks? PFF does not seem to like the Steelers drafting three guys from a certain college in the South.

Cannot pass on Penning. I think the guy is a top-15 talent and a potentially dominant RT. Mathis is a quality DL, can play the 0, 1 or 2. Alualu is not here in 2023. Get a guy who will make the team better for the next five years, not just tomorrow. Armour-Davis is a gifted CB, good at bump-and-run, possibly better in zone. He does not track the ball well in the air, sort of a Terrell Edmunds-lite, but has better coverage instincts and hands than Edmunds. Chenal is a starter early on. 252 lbs., ran a 4.53, takes on runners and blockers and wins the battle a ton. Also one of Wisconsin's primary blitzers, as evidenced by his 18 sacks in three years. Anderson has good size, speed, very much a work in progress. VanValkenburg because pass rush skills.

I ran this mock prior to knowing that Adams resigned...

We need more depth at TE so I'll take that C for Latu. He's a hidden gem, if you ask me...

PFN ... a few trades...

20. Kaiir Elam, CB
Allegedly signing Witherspoon back... still leaves us one man short at CB. Boom. fixed.

60. Christian Watson, WR
Is Juju coming back? Don't know. Right now we have Diontae, Claypool and Anthony Miller. Adding 6'4" Watson is a no-brainer here.

84. Myjai Sanders, Edge
BAA at the pick. Sure, could have addressed a need, but a QB rusher at this point? yes.

112. Channing Tindall, LB
Schoebert is gone now. Line him up next to soft assed Bush and ILB is fixed.

145. Jamaree Salyer, OG
We've had multiple talks with the guy and he fits.

193. Quentin Lake, S
yes - Carnell's son. With both good knees

223. Ty Chandler, RB

he can spell N-A-J-E-E and is pretty good on the field, too
