    Luke Goedeke
    OT,

Wow. Just ... wow. Davis + Jack + Anderson + Heyward + Watt = good freaking luck running the ball, opposing offense. Jack + Anderson + Bryant + Watt + Heyward + Minkah + Witherspoon + Wallace = good luck throwing the ball, opposing offense.

Metchie III a #1 WR. Not available until later in the season, I suspect, due to ACL recovery but when he becomes part of the offense - look out.

Finally, Goedeke is one of my favorite later-round guys. Very good footwork, played RT in college, likely moves to G. Showed very good form at the Senior Bowl. Keeps pads low, excellent balance. Not a huge guy and could stand to gain 10 good lbs. but good enough to be a candidate to start at G pretty soon, or possibly be the multi-position OL teams need.

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 20: Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia (B+) - instantly improves the run D and frees up LBs to roam
Round 2 Pick 20: Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan (A) -Ultra productive
Round 3 Pick 20: George Pickens, WR, Georgia (A) I doubled down with three WRs gone from the roster.
Round 4 Pick 34 (COMP): Alec Lindstrom, C/OG, Boston College (A+) Has the bloodline and is a technician. I put him at C
Round 7 Pick 4: Rachaad White, RB, Arizona State (A+) Good value late. I kick a certain RB on the roster to the Mcurb.
Round 7 Pick 20: Joshua Williams, CB, Fayetteville State (A+) Small school prospect that comes with an intriguing athletic pedigree.

PFF Mock Draft

Draft 1

1.20: Jordan Davis, IDL, Georgia

-I'm still not sure how I feel about Davis compared to other prospects, but I do value winning the battle in the trenches and having a powerful, massive presence in the middle should help elevate an already good pass rush and keep Bush and Jack clean. Other considerations: Chris Olave, Treylon Burks, Zion Johnson, Trevor Penning, Devonte Wyatt, Andrew Booth, Kaiir Elam, Lewis Cine

2.52: Leo Chenal, LB, Wisconsin
-Not the direction I wanted to go with Bush and Jack under contract, but Chenal just feels like a hard-nosed defensive football player and this defense needs more guys like that. The move will also allow the Steelers insurance for either ILB moving into the future. Other considerations: Abraham Lucas, Logan Hall, Brian Asamoah, Drake Jackson

3.84: Max Mitchell, OT, Louisiana
-Steelers go back to Louisiana for an OL. PFF had him as the highest graded tackle in college football. Good frame with room to add weight and provides depth to a very thin position. Other considerations: Carson Strong, Christian Watson, Khalil Shakir, Romeo Doubs, Nicholas Petit-Frere

4.138: Cordale Flott, CB, LSU

6.208: JT Woods, S, Baylor

7.225: Dai'Jean Dixon, WR, Nicholls State

7.241: Lucas Krull, TE, Pitt

Draft 2

1.20: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

-Future No. 1 receiver with good speed. Big play guy the Steelers don't have and is one of the more polished receiver prospects. Other considerations: Treylon Burks, Zion Johnson, Trevor Penning, Devonte Wyatt, Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean, Andrew Booth, Kaiir Elam, Lewis Cine

2.52: Daniel Faalele, RT, Minnesota
-Another mock draft and again with so-so options in the second. Rather than go ILB, this time I went with a RT with huge potential. Other considerations: Leo Chanel, Chad Muma, Roger McCreary, Kerby Joseph

3.84: Darrian Beavers, LB, Cincinnati
-Finding a potential ILB of the future. Other considerations: Carson Strong, Dameon Pierece, Dylan Parham, Max Mitchell

4.138: Neil Farrell, IDL, LSU

6.208: Jesse Luketa, EDGE, Penn State

7.225: Chamarris Conner, DB, Virginia Tech

7.241: Tyler Goodson, RB, Iowa

Your score is: 50729 (GRADE: A)

Your Picks:

Round 1 Pick 24 (DAL): Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama (A) - We need a true #1. Jordan Davis was gone - no brainer here.
Round 2 Pick 24 (DAL): Phidarian Mathis, DT, Alabama (A+) - He's not Davis but he has a non-stop motor kinda like Heyward.
Round 2 Pick 26 (ATL): Coby Bryant, CB, Cincinnati (A+) - Insurance. We need more talent at DB.
Round 3 Pick 15 (LAC): George Pickens, WR, Georgia (A) - We lost two starters at WR - Pickens is silky smooth and polished.
Round 3 Pick 20: Dawand Jones, OT, Ohio State (A+) - Immediate competition for Chuks.
Round 5 Pick 3 (NYJ): Brad Hawkins, FS/SS, Michigan (A+) - Hawkins can play SS now.
Round 5 Pick 20 (NYJ): Zamir White, RB, Georgia (A+) - Here's the lightning to Najee's thunder.
Round 7 Pick 4: Quay Walker, ILB/OLB, Georgia (A+) - Need more speed on at OLB.
Round 7 Pick 20: Peyton Hendershot, TE, Indiana (A+) - Bye bye Ebron.

I’m liking this draft…can Mathis play 3 downs? The kick I’m hearing in Davis is he gasses and do 2 downs

Steelers would have some serious firepower at receiver if you add Olave and Moore.

Trade back in first in 1st for an extra 3rd and draft accordingly:

Basically no chance the draft works out this well as I think neither Metchie III nor Chenal drop that far, but elite CB, ROLB competitor and 3rd down specialist who can turn the corner like nobody's business, one of the best WR's in this draft, an elite ILB who replaces Bush soon. A developmental RT who could turn into a dominant run blocker and a S with incredible athletic talent, good college production.

Round 7 Pick 4: Kalon Barnes, CB, Baylor (A+)
Round 7 Pick 20: Daniel Bellinger, TE, San Diego State (A+)

Draft strategy pretty much self-explanatory. Improve the big uglies big-time, get a big, fast WR, an excellent ILB with more tools than Ace Hardware, and two later-round picks for developmental depth. Barnes ran an incredible time at the combine but this is not tag, so ...

The anti-Mel Kiper draft dominated by big uglies and defense. Elam a lockdown CB. He is on the field week 1 as a gunner and slot CB. Elam, Witherspoon, Wallace and Sutton give the Steelers the best CB combination in a long, long time. Upgrade SS with two elite athletes in Bolden and Anderson, both 210 lbs. and not afraid of contact, both experienced in the box, cover-2 and slot. Oh, and both are lightning quick. Travis Jones the 1B behind Jordan Davis, who is long gone, and Faalele takes over for Okorafor when Chuks almost gets Trubisky killed. Chenal a physical freak who actually played up to his combine numbers with 96 tackles, 8 sacks, 2 FF for Wisconsin last year.

The only WR I take is kind of in the Claypool mold, big, good-not-great speed, but very good hands. To be truly a Claypool, he's going to need to work on falling to the ground when the deep ball gets near him.

Penning is awesome, would deserve to start week 1 but Tomlin won't switch out until Okorafor almost gets Trubisky killed. Christian Watson very talented, and the tools to be the X. Watson as the X, DJ the Y, and Claypool the Z, with Harris and Freiermuth, would be a ton of talent. You know I really like Jones. Doubt he makes it to 84 but hey, we follow the rules and there he is in the mock.

Jaylen Watson is a great late round pick. I think Mitchell plays in the NFL, but may wind up as a guard due to fast-twitch limitations. Kendrick a somewhat risky pick because of off-the-field BS.

Yes I’m bored. What’s the latest now that the combine is over and A couple names have moved around.

Thanks

Here is what I came up with:

R1 Pick 20: Berhard Raimann - T - Central Michigan
R2 Pick 52: Leo Chenal - LB - Wisconsin
R3 Pick 84: Dylan Parham - G - Memphis
R4 Pick 138: Cordale Flott - CB - LSU
R6 Pick 208: Adam Anderson - EDGE - Georgia
