Look there are three types of Qbs, Pocket passers, pass first-mobile QBs and straight Running QBs..(really four, some pocket passers can run a little bit or move around the pocket really well but just never do run unless they are absolutely forced to, like Ben, and others are immobile statues back there)
Pocket passers that are great have fairly long careers and last until their arms deteriorate. Winning super bowls with older pocket passers is completely doable…
the pass first Mobile QB who can run but is always looking to pass downfield is incredibly dangerous as a younger QB, but traditionally they can last until their late 30’s and still win… some do have to adjust a bit as their legs go, but because they are strong in the passing game, they tend to be able to do that….
Run First QBs rarely have any late career success.. their careers match up with RBs way to closely.., basically by 31 or so they are done, some sooner… some of these guys have really good passing stats for a while when tgey are young, but those stats are so tied to defenses fearing their running ability that they never really learn to play against traditional defenses and when that running ability diminishes, they don’t have the skills to play the game as a pocket guy…
8 years is the general high water mark for these guys… some less than that, and since many pocket long term huge second contracts they often do become albatrosses quickly
