Malcolm Butler

Yes... but its hard to say what happened exactly.... there maybe was a shouting match with Butler and the coaching staff... in any case the pats fans will always feel benching him got them the loss... so I am happy
Butler might have overplayed his hand. "What are you going to do, bench me for the SB?". Uh...yeah.

Doesn't surprise me that Hoodie would bench a starter for the SB but I also think that he believes he can win it without any one player.

I thought he had a good season the last two years. After his first year with the torn groin.

To each his own. What I saw was a guy who thought he was much better than his play on the field. A guy who loved the thunder shot but never wrapped up..made for some nice highlight hits but also made for a great many players getting extra yardage.A guy who made a tackle on 3rd on 14 after giving up 15 and acting like he had just saved the day. A guy who talked way too damn much on and off the field.I had real high hopes when we signed him but I just didn't see enough out of him to justify the deal we gave him.

Butler did play, but only special teams.

Is anybody else suspicious that Malcolm Butler, with no previous known history of such undisciplined behavior, supposedly is caught loaded and smoking weed and missing walk-throughs and yells at coaches, the last game before he becomes an UFA?

Wow, what remarkably good timing for the Patsies, since such information is driving down the price to keep him, no? I am very, very, very suspicious that this is bullshit put out by the Patsies to keep Butler affordable enough to remain a Patsy.

Yeah, he's claiming it isn't true. Hopefully it isn't.

100% right. You get a free safety that can actually read receiver patterns, instead of staring at a QB, and you have a secondary that can make plays.

Yep, Mitchell would've done fine in the late 90's early 2000's NFL, but you need to be able to cover now to play safety, or at least be able to make a play on the ball. Mitchell is always in chase mode.
