Former Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber died on Wednesday, according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

He was 38.

Barber was reportedly found dead in his apartment by Frisco, Texas, police, who were there on a “welfare concern.” Specifics surrounding his death are not yet known.

"We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III," the Cowboys said in a statement. "Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win every down. He had a passion for the game and love for his coaches and teammates. Our hearts go out to Marion's family and friends during this difficult time."

damn. not marion the barbarian. even though his best years were as a cowboy, i loved watching that guy play football. trying to tackle him was like trying to tackle the tazmanian devil, he NEVER went down easy!

Its pretty sad. I live in the city next to frisco where he lived. He's has a lot of weird issues and been in trouble with the law here multiple times. I mean lots of weird stuff like charging and ramming cars with his body and other weird crazy stuff. His will stated he did not want his brain or body examined for CTE or anything else. Apparently he was dead for a while they are saying here on the local sports shows as his body was already very decomposed. Neighbors called for a welfare check cause they lived below him and there was a water leak. The shower had been running for days.

But they haven’t. Anti-vaxers tried to exploit deaths of soccer players from various leagues around the world, but if it’s really a thing, then where are the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAA deaths? All highly vaccinated. Pete Maravich dropped dead at age 40 in 1988, if that happened today people would speculate about his vaccination status.
