Mason is back

90 mil vs 4 mil.

90 mil,, or whatever its astronomical and its probably for 1 year.. The guy is 41!

I'm not saying I would pay $45 million a year for Rodgers. I wouldn't pay him anywhere close to that. But Tomlin might convince the Steelers' front office to do so.

I'm not the one who started relating QB salaries directly with expected point production. Any attempt to pretend that concept is legitimate is just plainly stupid. Like a lot of the shlt that you post.
Oh, so Josh Allen and Joe Burrow aren’t paid to produce points and stats.

The only 💩 I see is the 💩 between your ears you call brains.

😆

You made the claim that Fields making 5x the amount of Mason should produce 5x the amount of points. That was YOUR statement. Now you're twisting it, even after I posted all those names saying they didn't produce 5x the amount of points of our QB's, despite making WAY more than 5x as much. Instead of owning it, you're twisting it and throwing out childish insults.

I just read on this very site that the Steelers are comfortable with Rudolph going into the season as the impending starter.

Obviously, they would bring in a couple more qbs between free agency and the draft but I don’t see Fields putting 5x more points on the board over Rudolph. Maybe you do.

Just incase you forgot what you wrote

I think Ford was just being facetious. In other words using salaries as a gauge, Fields isn’t 5X better than Mason.
None of that is meant literally.
If he really believes one QB making 5X more than another should produce 5X the points, then yeah that’s nuts.

That says a lot about the front office.

No, but according to your inane correlation, the Bengals would be expected to score 28 times more points with Joe Burrow instead of Jake Browning. So only 84 points for every field goal Browning puts up. Can't you comprehend how ridiculous that sounds?

Your strawman arguments just make you look even more stupid. I didn't know that was possible.

Mason can win in this league and with this team.
Yes he can. He is a gun slinger and has pocket presence. All gun slingers throw INT's. Bubby threw 14 I think in 1990, but he threw 20 td's ( 7 went to Eric Green, that guy was great and terrible ha) . We only had Lipps at WR ( also Dwight StoneHands Stone and Derrick Hill ...1 TD between them ) and Bam got hurt I think, so Hoge and someone...at RB . We had a great defense, Noll looked like he just had to give them a look at halftime lol.....anyway, back to the present. I can ride with Mason, he can make it interesting at least this year, and hopefully is the guy we want at QB. Just keep slingin it! btw 9-7 that year. The glory years of the 70's that I grew up watching had grew dim in the rear view mirror, Noll was near the end........for you young guys, there were some tough years to watch between then and Ben.

I'm still hoping for a trade down in the first and try to pick up a second. Might make it easier to digest them taking Dart in the first. Which they could still do even with Rodgers.
A trade down and still being in the 1st and picking up a 2nd? What world are you living in? So we are gonna go from 21st to what? AND pick up a 2nd too in the process? OK. I must not be understanding you proposal.

But being that those "tough years" existed between Bradshaw and Ben, how is it that our owner and head coach learned nothing from those times? The only Super Bowls we ever won were when we had quality QBs back there, but here we are floundering with the most critical position gone unattended. Are we looking at 30 years without a decent QB again? Are we destined to wade through the Cliff Stouts, Mark Malones, Bubby Bristers, David Woodleys, Neil O'Donnells for 25 years until we find the guy?

If he costs us a first and third, then we are screwed. And it doesn't matter how much potential he has because the team will have massive holes and the blame will be thrown at Dart. Missing that second rounder is already going to be tricky. The chances of us hitting on him and someone in 4-7 with needs at DL, CB, TE, OL, and RB, that's a tough ask. It's why I'm so confused with their FA strategy thus far.
The reason you are confused with the FA strategy is because it's so confusing; it has more to do with Rooney bristling at spending $ than anything else. Is is a coincidence that the QB he jumped to signing happened to be the biggest name out there for a crazy deal? Boy, he raced at that deal didn't he? His delay in signing either Fields or Russ came down to his penchant for seeking a deal; their collective prices were just too much for him to bear. So he delayed, clutched his pocket book and watched them both sign elsewhere. Only a discounted Rudolph came at a price he could stomach. The Steelers (Art) already balked at Rogers asking price, the team needs a better "deal" to make it happen.

The Steelers are about comp picks and stock-piling for next years QB trade up - N - pick.

I also had chicken salad samiches for lunch.!!!

BACON for desert.

They will draft DL and a RB, may make do with CB and OL.

Make no mistake, the STEELERS are calculating their comp picks. Everyone knows it’s difficult to calculate, but these teams have ways to determine pretty close to what to expect. Should they feel good about an array of comp. Picks, we may even see them trade this year’s capital to move up for a certain QB they feel strong about.

We see it as padding for next draft, but I’m saying there is a possibility of this year’s draft too.

This isn’t the Steelers of old, their actions have proven they are aggressive at times.
