Mason Rudolph signing with Titans

Before Russell Wilson became available at his discounted rate, there was talk that Mason was going to get Trubisky type money ($8 million a year), if he signed with Pittsburgh. To take a one year $3.6 million deal to back up elsewhere means he must really have been pissed off with the B.S. the Steelers were feeding him and was only too happy to remove the safety net Tomlin thought he had at the QB position. I am not surprised he left for greener pastures but the amount he left for did.
Suppose the Steelers offered him the same money. Would he have been smart to stay and be the obvious #3 QB behind, Kenny and Wilson (no particular order amongst them)? Or, was he smarter to move on to Tennessee where he'd be the unquestioned #2 on a team where the #2 has a chance to see a lot of playing time? I'm just saying thinking of it as business decision would have lead him to TN. No anger or whatever needed. Simply business.
Now, I don't know if he was angry at the Steelers. Don't know that he wasn't. But as a business decision, he made the right move.

still will be a back-up in TN. I wish him well, but he couldn't wait to leave the Steelers. No one wanted him last year and he came crawling back, so to speak. He had some decent games and got his new one-year deal. I don't see how his situation changes much, but he got his change of scenery.

I know one way his situation changed in a pretty huge way: He just got a 300% raise, from $1 mill to $3 mill, that ain't no small potatoes. Good for Mason.

Good luck Mason, ya dealt with a crap situation like a pro

Break out the template
He’d look good in black and yellow
He was never used properly

who the **** is this black and yellow team you speak of ?

Salute the nation

Good luck Mason, glad to see you get an opportunity that isn’t the Rooney/Tomlin clusterfuk that is Pittsburgh. Hope that you finally get a real shot, and nail it. Couldn’t happen to a better guy.

As much as I hate losses, I would overlook one if he somehow put up 500 yds on genius Mediocre Mike‘s D.

He got a little more $$$ and moves up to #2 on the depth chart instead of the #3 scout team QB he would have undoubtedly been here. That's some significant change right there. Can't hate the man for making a sound business decision.

It's unfortunate that many no name scrub quarterbacks have put up good numbers over the last 3-4 years.

So it's not the big accomplishment it used to be. It's pretty standard now.

Nothing but the best Mason, you were a true professional on this team. I remember when you beat Bungals and Tomlin was asked about you and he said Rudolph being Rudolph, Tomlin being Tomlin as well. Steelers say they wanted Mason back then as usual turned their phones off. He has been treated so badly, Tomlin wanted Ben gone and we Know he was the same with a guy that. not only made Tomlin a winner but got us in the playoffs. Good for you Mason because now in Pickett falls through, Tomlin looks bad.

Not hating on him for doing what he needed to do. I think he will turn out to be another Josh Dobbs. May see him in some games, but you may not.

he sure did
no need for him to take part in yet another fake QB competition where he stands no chance of a fair shake
a very smart move for his future indeed

are you talking about the 2nd and 3rd stringers we've tried to defend?
we do somehow have a way with making them look good.
