Yes, Tomlin is not getting fired and has free reign to be terrible. Austin probably gets another year as a fake coordinator and being terrible. Canada will torture us the rest of this year and hopefully will not be renewed. We are going to be 9-8. Which means we sit at home or get killed in the WC round. Either way, a middling pick again.

The team requires a total reset after the season. Tomlin has one year remaining but I would buy that out and send him on his way. Interview one of these OC from the Eagles, Forty Niners, Dolphins to come in as HC and get us started on building an NFL offense for todays NFL. Let him choose his staff. Interview a capable DC to work with what we have on defense.
Draft a blue chip Center and RT next draft. Sign a quality receiver to play the slot not some scrub.
Sign a top end CB and Safety to help this defense.
Trade ******* Najee if you can get a second for him before this deadline. He was not worth where we drafted him. No burst, too slow. Brings little to the table.

Why even bother saying it. It is not happening.

As far as Deuce is concerned, a winning record and first round playoff loss is a great season. Won more than they lost and made the playoffs. Everything is great.

The team would be better off if a black hole sucked up the coaching staff… look no farther than the oline… the three iol guys are all Free agent additions who were highly rated elsewhere and regressed significantly here… IOL isn’t hard to play.. if that is happening then it is absolutely scheme related

Yes, just be good enough to keep the merchandise moving and put a$ses in the seats. Anything more than that is just gravy.

The O-line is absolutely attrocious too!
Your right, they're terrible. So after signing the players we have over two years, I'm wondering if the FO realizes that we can't run the ball or protect the QB

I'm not sure if Canada and Meyer discuss what works. I'm wondering if Canada even talks to Meyer. The offense seems to be one of the worst products ever since I'm not sure, guessing late 1980s.

Tomlin is on his way to a 7th straight season without a playoff win and this team has shown no signs of progress for 3-4 seasons now. Does this team honestly have championship aspirations anymore?

**** this non losing season bullshit, I’ve had my limit with this Steeler organization and not sure after 65 years if I want to continue.
It’s bad enough that he NFL puts out a bad product but for the Steelers to yearly put out very mediocre poorly coached teams has me near done with it.
Tomlin never seems to be held accountable for the mediocre product and now that mediocrity appears to even be in doubt.
This offense is horrendous and the OC if he dares call himself such is in way over his head.
The scheme is poor, the blocking assignments are poor, receivers don’t get separation, the QB continues to be hit, hurried sacked and now hurt again.
The running game is poor and the passing game is poor. Minus the defensive TDs this offense is averaging barely 15 ppg and that’s just unacceptable.
The defense although with stars like Watt, Highsmith, Minkah, up and comers like JPJ, Benton, Leal, and some decent players with Holcomb, Roberts, there are plenty of just guys playing on this defense.
I thought Tomlin was this great defensive mind and his strength was defensive backs, you could have fooled me. Who has Tomlin developed?
Art II is sadly backing the wrong guy for this organization and has put far too much emphasis on
minority hiring rather than hiring the most qualified and innovative head coach with fresh ideas to fit in with todays NFL.
Tomlin is not a great head coach! Never had been and never will be. He’s what Bradshaw says he is, a cheerleader type coach who tries to coach more by emotion than analytics, scheme and football X’s and O’s that was propped up for many seasons by a HOF QB. He’s an average mediocre head coach, nothing more! He simply has no answers, doesn’t know how to fix this. Afterall, he’s the one who made this mess. His players, his coordinators, his coaches. He blames the players for poor execution but fails to mention these are the players he wanted but he doesn’t know how to coach them up.
Tomlin is a fraud and always has been. A big thank you to Big Ben for keeping us relevant and giving us hope every year. We see now it was you Ben all along with Tomlin taking most of the credit as being this great coach.
We wish that the owner could have done a better job of giving you a head coach that would have taken the Steelers to a higher level and more SBs.

For two years I defended Canada because I had hoped that everything we had seen was just a foundation for what was to come, but its just junk.

All year they’ve run this one play where two guys on one side run basically the same short pattern to almost the same spot opposite from the downfield sideline shot they are going to take on the other side … and I kept waiting for them to do a deviation where they break one of those guys deep so the cb or safety crashing down gets burned… they never do..

The Steelers in the decade of the 2020's under Art Rooney II and Mike Tomlin are not committed to winning. Full stop.

They value outdated organizational buzzwords like stability and loyalty over doing what it takes to win. They are too proud to admit when they are clearly wrong. The Steelers coaching staff is playing checkers in a league of chess.

Anybody got a guess on how bad the Chiefs or Eagles would beat us right now? The game would be over at halftime, just like last year.

There is no problem cutting lousy players Olszewski but we refuse to let go of Canada. I'm not even mad at Canada at this stage, he's not going to fire himself, this all goes to the arrogance and stubbornness of ARII and Tomlin.

This same stubbornness will probably lead to a fat contract extension for Pickett even if he continues to play like this and is clearly not showing as a franchise QB.

This is first time in my adult life I can say this about them but they remind me of a mediocre MLB baseball team that doesn't want to spend money to win, the difference is we're not talking about spending $80 million, we're talking about firing an Offensive Coordinator and putting a head coach on notice his friends and Pitt aren't the only source of quality coaches and players. I would ask for Tomlin to be fired but we all know that will never happen.

Nothing, not even light can escape the grip of a black hole but I'm not sure that even a black hole would want any part of that coaching staff.

To the best of my recollection, I don’t think ANY coach has been fired since Shades has been here. Either they moved on, contract ran out, or retired. But fired? Nope.
And you are correct, everyone he’s hired were either people he already knew or worked with before.
As I’ve said previously, his best coordinators were the only two he didn’t hire, LeBeau and Haley.

The Jaguars defense held the Steelers offense to just 10 points on Sunday. It was another lackluster performance where the offense fell flat on their faces and failed to produce any consistent points despite three turnovers forced by the defense. It appears like many before them. However, they had a read on what the Steelers were doing before they snapped the ball.

Speaking after the game, linebacker Foye Oluokun talked about the team’s performance, and he called out the Pittsburgh offense for being predictable in how they use their schematics. It is no secret that Pittsburgh has several tells with their under-center and shotgun splits, backed up by data throughout the season.

“I don’t know if they really ran it on us that much. Kinda called out a lot of their plays before it happened,” Oluokun told 1010XL. “We might see them again later. That’s a good team, so hats off to them and be prepared if we see them later.”

Oluokun is not the first in the last three seasons to call this out. Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin and Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt called it out last year. Pittsburgh has a habit of not working off their tendencies and rocking back into what they do as a comfort mechanism when things are not working.

“Just settling down,” Pratt told CBS Sports last year. “It was us giving them plays. We knew what they were going to do. They like to do the same plays over and over.”

It’s not all Matt Canada’s fault. The Steelers had opportunities but lacked in execution greatly on Sunday. But he is part of the problem, especially when the trend has continued over three seasons. That is no coincidence at that point. Canada becomes a common denominator. The Steelers will have to go back to the drawing board again to figure out what went wrong on offense. There are many things, but most of them will not get fixed until they naturally go into the offseason and have to look at everything all over again.

Virtually every assistant coach Shades hired on his own has been trash, the only decent ones hired/retained in his tenure were hired by somebody else, especially in his Super Bowl season.
