Miami Dolphins Vs Steelers Monday Night Pregame thread

With Jones, Anderson and Washington injured, Steelers cannot run the ball out of the Jumbo.
These injuries seem like the death blow to an already struggling run game.
I am struggling to see how we stop Achane. He has been consistently great this season, His whole career really.
He is most of the offense, stop him we win.
 
Steelers rarely lose on Monday nights.
Dolphins rarely win when the temp is below freezing. It’s gonna be in the teens with the wind chill around 0.

Apart from the 2023 Buffalo playoff game, this will be the first time Watt has missed a game since Herbig emerged (and even the 2023 playoff was Herbig's rookie year). Highsmith/2025 Herbig would have to be the best OLB pairing the Steelers have had when Watt has been out, so hopefully that translates into an improvement in the Wattless record.

Yeah, the drop-off isn't what it has been in
year's past with Watt seeming to have lost a step and Herbig emerging as he has.

Sawyer also provides additional depth they haven't had in prior years, especially when it comes to holding the edge against the run.

If any positive comes from losing Watt, it's that we should get a better idea of Herbig's ceiling and what they might have in Sawyer.

I been near that, recently on a Tuesday I thought it was Thursday night football. Wrote the Prediction Thread as so and many pointed that out to me…………….. EDIT the change, but the real was there.

Lol maybe the Karma from a 34 year home winning streak has finally caught up with them and they are destined to lose to a mediocre at best team... or maybe dylan cook finds his potential, Herbig has five sacks, and some practice squad scrub at DL is secretly ab all pro... neither would surprise me that much anymore

NOT to minimalize, but it’s late in the season and a lot of players are banged up.

Today’s practice will be a better tell-tale as to who is available.

That is a pretty extensive list and Jones to the IR is a little bit of a surprise to me as I didn’t know his was that bad.

IIRC Jones really messed his neck up against the bears... He wasnt expected to be back this year...

Thanks, I kind of lost track of him so thanks for the update.

I feel bad for this kid, was totally miss-used to start off his career as Dan Moore was privatized over Brod.

Then the OL coach and scheme, now the injury.

Hopefully he makes it back and better next season.

Know though that he will be under the same HC next season as well.

The “slumping Bills” had just blown out Carolina and beaten KC in their previous two games.

This is not an easy game, Miami has weapons to torch this defense.

You are absolutely correct.
But they lost the two games previously and then Miami afterwards. They were two and three in that five game span and really not playing their best football at the time.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.😉
 
A good thing for fans is the ravens play the day before. Of they lose. We can still be in 1st regardless

Defensive system is too predictable. They give up sideline and fade routes often.


Also underneath TE stuff is another weakness for the defense.



I don’t even know what to make of the offensive side. Rodgers is probably having to resort to calling his own stuff just to be sufficient

They've been running the same failed crap for over a decade. This entire scheme relys on the pass rush and turnovers.

Well,when your offense can't do a damn thing with them,they don't matter much. They get pushed around on the DL,and play that retarded 2 DL in situations they shouldn't, like the goal line.

They break contain constantly which gets them gouged by cutbacks by the RB. You'd think by watching the film they'd have figured that out. Then again when your DL is getting pushed around, your linebackers get washed out.

The offense looks pretty much the same as it has since Ben left,minus those jet sweeps.
They still can't run block worth a ****,they only work the sidelines with throws and avoid the middle of the field like it's ******* cancer. It's the most ridiculous ****.

It has to be the easiest to defend in the league. Any decent defense can shut that **** down by just stacking the box and pressing. Teams have been doing that to them for YEARS.


They need some serious ******* changes and a whole new mindset, if they ever want to get back to playing championship level football.
I don't think the owner gives a **** as long as those seats are sold.
