Dude straight up sucks. Always flapping his mouth. Knock a pass down or make one play. He's always two steps behind someone making a catch. Had high hopes for this dude but he's terrible.

I think Mitchell will be fine come next season. The stupid **** they TRY to do with Troy is redundant and predictable. Thomas will be a much more effective SS BECAUSE they will let him play SS instead of LB. Troy is covering for our weakness having rookies play alongside of Timmons. (yes, I consider both Shazier and Spence rookies). Mitchell is NOT Cam Chancellor and cannot support the run unless we have zero FS defending the pass. Allen is a worse LB than Troy. We need to let both S play back and stop the pass BUT we are too aggressive with our run blitzes with the personnel we have IMO. WE haven't had a good deep safety since...well I don't know when.
Mitchell can be a good free safety when he is allowed to play FS. Right now, he is a SS/FS hybrid which is not going to work. If we had some decent pass rushers and 'mobile' run defenders, we could be ok. Tuitt will be fine. I don't know yet about McCullers and Heyward will be fine once we get some decent OLBs.

Allen is playing traditional SS now and he still sucks.
I saw TN Griffin all over the field making plays. Didn't see Mitchell make 1 significant play. He's absolutely worthless.

He sure can whiff on a tackle.
The next time he wraps someone up will be the first; I think primetime tackled better. I keep hoping he just needs to adjust to the D, but he seems to be getting worse instead of better. The guy talks way too damn much for someone who misses more plays than he makes.

Yeah i agree. Most on here including myself were happy with the signing, but he has played awful and has a terrible attitude. At least clark could back up his stupid comments / antics most of the time.
I was hoping he would be another Ryan Clark signing, but it turns out its like we signed a current Ryan Clark, not a young Ryan Clark. Put Robert Golden in -- he can't do much worse. I'm sure he could get burned for 80 yards also. Hell, when Ike gets back, put him at safety.

Again, it was actually Allen with safety coverage during that 80yd bomb. Not Mitchell.
Mike has made some plays- 2 FF's and a couple of big hits to knock balls loose. But he has been inconsistent. That comes with the territory acclimating to the crazy style of Troy and also working alongside new safeties week in week out. But I think he will slowly pick things up. Remember, it took RClark about a year for it to sink in..
But if we are being fair (and not just emotional fans), Mitchell has been about average to this point.

Because i UNDERSTAND THE GAME and the intricacies and fans like YOU like to make extreme remarks and kneejerk reactions which if implemented would turn this franchise into the Oakland Raiders. THEY like changing coaches when things go awry-----YOU like changing coaches when things go awry. I understand this team isnt great...its average and its in transition with 22 new roster players. YOU probably didnt realize that but it does factor. Injuries DO factor.
And who's undercutting Troy or Ben ? I just said hes (Troy) been rather quiet this year. Whats your problem with reading interpretation ? Im not afraid to call Ben out on his flaws....flaws that have been persistent since he was a rookie and hes STILL exhibiting those flaws (wheres the progress ?). Im dont trash him as you say, but hes got work to do still. And to label Mitchell garbage is a reach. Hes third on the team in tackles and leads the team in forced fumbles. Hardly garbage IMO.
Im not here to argue or change your opinion on ****, but only to prove youre stupid.
But tell me what impact Troys had this season--moreso than Mike. Ill wait..............
In all fairness, almost every new safety in our D sucks for a year. Some rebound, some do not, but its a very hard system for a Safety, but it also relies more on the safeties than even the OLB's. most of our suckiest years have come with poor safety play first and foremost.
I'm thinking Mitchell and Blunt won't be back next year.

I thought Mitchell and Troy were playing well during the 3 game win streak. They seemed to be working well together and in position. Will Allen is just terrible and when one safety is out of position, the other is left in an untenable position. Simple as that.
Give Mitchell a chance when Troy comes back. If he still sucks, so be it.
