It's sad to see how many of the real experts disagree with Munchak's evaluation's. Guess we hired the wrong guy.
What no love for Beachum?
Dude is another Tunch Ilkin, a Carleton Hasslerig without all the crazy. We should be celebrating this news, not predicting when he will get beat out by the higher draft pick.
Glad Munchak sees it.
Adams will be a always be a subpar lt pushed there to early, he needs to first show he can be reliable at rt before any consideration for lt.
2014
beachum foster pouncey decastro gilbert/adams
2015
beachum jhonson pouncey decastro adams
its not a downer on beachum,, its more of an oh crap,, we wasted a 2nd round pick.
Good thing we didn't waste a 7th rd pick...
Totally agree. Hopefully square peg round hole doesn't **** this one up.Adams is much better at RT than LT. /damning with faint praise
I think Beachum has LT locked down.

Me too. I'm glad they took a guy that had the ability to start if he turned out well.
It should always be performance over pedigree.
Unfortunately sometimes it appears that it is not.
Had the opportunity not arisen due to injury, would we know now that Beachum is a capable LT who can start in the NFL or would he be our 5 position OL utility back up for a team whose coaching staff places an exceptionally high value on positional flexibility.
True. But Beachum was put at LT because Adams sucked so bad not because he was injured. I never understood why Tomlin insisted on playing Adams at LT when a blind **** flinging monkey can see he can't play it well.

because he had his position coach,, a specialist at that position telling him he was the best he had. Said position coach is now an assistant position coach elsewhere.
ok blame tomlin.. His position coach was/is as much to blame.

Who does the buck stop with? Tomlin said with his own mouf that Adams was a LT. He talked him up before the season. Who is the boss? We don't blame positions coaches for other **** ups do we? Do you think the TE coach put Adams at TE? Nope, Tomlin did that. He's in charge of who starts. It's ridiculous how people will blame everybody to cover for Tomlin.
Your wrong. What I said isn't a cover for Tomlin. What I said is a belief or a hope in how the organization is run. Tomlin was what a D back at William and mary.. ? A defensive coach at Tampa and D coordinator at Minnesota. If I were the head coach and my position coach told me this is the guy to start... I would listen. I would back up my position coach's decisions. That's what a good leader would do. But then 4 games into the season,, with no pouncy,, etc... the wheels were officially off the Adams Bus and something had to change. They did .
I ******* hate tomlin. WHo does the buck stop with... ? lol This isn't 1947 .

Please keep your Tomlin lover "projections in your own "Mouf".
It's not THAT far fetched...I know no one will agree with me, but I think before the season is over Adams will be the starting RT or LT.
And so it begins...Adams and Gilbert do not fit this blocking scheme. For that matter neither does Foster but he has shown he can get the job done so I doubt anyone pushes him from his position at least this year. I just don't see Gilbert being a Steelers after his contract is up and the same with Adams. If they had ANY trade value I would say trade them both but I doubt we could get a six pack and a pound of jerky for them.
How about we let the COACHES determine if Young Adams is worthy of the starting position??? Are any of us coaches working for the Steelers??? (If there is one here - silence is golden)If Adams is the starting LT Ben will be getting killed again... just like the first 4 games last year. Adams is NOT a LT.
I see what you did there...Geez, I hope Adams gets a stab at starting.
