Dude is another Tunch Ilkin, a Carleton Hasslerig without all the crazy. We should be celebrating this news, not predicting when he will get beat out by the higher draft pick.

I don't think this is really an endorsement. Guys are starters until they're not starters - meaning that the coaches are never going to dump on the guy who has the job.

I think FordFairLane is right. Let's reserve praise until Beachum completes a full 16 game season.

Adams played left tackle in college as did Beachum. I just want the best 5 on the field. The only interest in Adams instead of Beachum if they are both capable and that is a big if at this point is Beachum would be a better fit inside than Adams. I think it is great that we found a left tackle that was so stealthy the rest of the league passed on multiple times with out selecting him, now that is the way to hide talent.

Foster isnt going anywhere any time soon

Adams will be a always be a subpar lt pushed there to early, he needs to first show he can be reliable at rt before any consideration for lt.

True. But Beachum was put at LT because Adams sucked so bad not because he was injured. I never understood why Tomlin insisted on playing Adams at LT when a blind **** flinging monkey can see he can't play it well.

because he had his position coach,, a specialist at that position telling him he was the best he had. Said position coach is now an assistant position coach elsewhere.

Tomlin said Adams was a LT. He defended him as such during the first part of last season. He's the HC and has final say on personnel.

Bullshit. Tomlin knows little about 3-4 defense. He's a tampa 2 guy. He was a DC for ONE ******* YEAR. His pass defense was LAST in the entire league. I know no one will agree with me, but I think before the season is over Adams will be the starting RT or LT.

It's not THAT far fetched...

Adams and Gilbert do not fit this blocking scheme. For that matter neither does Foster but he has shown he can get the job done so I doubt anyone pushes him from his position at least this year. I just don't see Gilbert being a Steelers after his contract is up and the same with Adams. If they had ANY trade value I would say trade them both but I doubt we could get a six pack and a pound of jerky for them.

If Adams is the starting LT Ben will be getting killed again... just like the first 4 games last year. Adams is NOT a LT.

Let us "not forget", as Vader has already opened the bag - Adams was stabbed in the offseason - just last year - and made an attempt to start at RT last season. Now while he was just a second year guy - he had a mediocre OL coach and the line continued to drop like flies as a whole.

Adams, I hear, has a new "life coach". His name is Ray Lewis...
