MVP Talk

no, that would be probably still be Timmons- did you see him slam the door on that 4th down J. Charles? - that play probably saved the game

Probably right but Harrison has >5 sacks playing in 10 games, with meaningful time in only 5 games.

If Ben wins the most competitive division in football this season, he has a shot at MVP of the league.

Oddly enough, when it comes to team MVP, there are valid cases for Brown and Bell. I have to side with Ben though having back to back 6TD games slinging the ball to everyone in a jersey is nothing short of special. Brown is undefendable, but doesn't catch every pass, and he's just as consistent in losses as he is in wins. Bell is an incredible 2 way threat, but we've won games without him producing much. With Ben the team lives or dies on his production. And if he keeps producing, he's going to be tough to stop.

If Ben doesn't win the team MVP there is some kinda problem with him and the team. That is your leader. He played great, he is up for league MVP and the others won't win it. They just won't. Bell and Murray cancel eachother out. Brown would have needed like 1800 yards and more TD's to be league MVP. How the **** can you make a league MVP run if you can't win your own team. Think about how many games this team won when Bell was so-so. How many did they win when Ben was? Maybe Jacksonville and he was pretty good that day.

Oh and lets not forget the position Bell's little Weed run put the team in less than 14 days before the opener.

Big Ben is 2nd in yards, 2nd in yards per game, 3rd in completion percentage, 3rd in yards per attempt, 3rd in QB rate, has 30 TDs to 8 interceptions which is and he has done it in what is possibly the toughest division in the NFL... Hard to argue that he shouldn't be up there... I think he should be the top QB in the discussion but I will freely admit I'm biased... I'd place him ahead of Romo, Rodgers, Manning and Brady this year. I would think it would have the largest impact of any one single player missing from a team if Big Ben were to get injured and miss playing time.

I say Johnny Football. Isn't he tearing up the league like he said he would?

I hope some Tee shirt makers in Cleveland are smart enough to come up with that on their own and make :

Johnny Football

Which player had the better stats?

It still annoys me to hear all of this Tom Brady is the greatest QB ever talk on TV... I heard it again this morning getting ready for work. HE CHEATED FOR YEARS!!!!! HE WAS CAUGHT RED HANDED BY THE LEAGUE!!!! HE HASN"T WON A lʍoq ɹǝdnS SINCE HE WAS CAUGHT!!!!! ok, thanks for listening... Enjoy the rest of your day and Merry Christmas to all. (by the way, the same goes for Behli-cheat.)

that depends... which player was playing against 9 man fronts trying to stop his RB all year long? I think ben had one game under 100 passer rating when facing D's loaded up for bell all season... Romo didn't have nearly those stats, he just deep balled to Bryant in single coverage a lot. Rodgers was a better QB and more important to his offense. Lacy runs against Ds playing the pass... room throws against Ds playing for the run.

Lets break this down here:

big ben accounts for 73% of his teams offensive scoring. 72% of his teams offensive yards,
luck accounts for 79% of their scoring and 73% of their yards
Manning accounts for 77%of their scoring and 79% of their yards
Rodgers 73% of his teams scoring and 70% of its yards
Romo? 65% of his teams scoring and 58% of their yards… not in the same class at all

I don't care how good he was in that last game... he isn't league MVP and isn't close...

Best view of it is on Chalk Talk, I can't get it to copy here. Really shows Will Allen and Harrison making the tackle after the good initial hit by Timmons. Not a bash on Timmons but does show that it is a team sport and with out the play of the other two charles likely will convert, even though the initial hit was by Timmons.

Yeah, but didn't Timmons get credited for 3 tackles on the play?

O Murray
D Watt

b..b..but Joke Succo is 1337!

I'd go w/Russel Wilson for MVP. He's a phenomenal player w/a game that's so hard to stop.
20 tds 6 ints 3300 yds 62% 95.7 rating
842 rushing yards, 6 tds.
Unless some crazy **** happens, they're going to the SB again w/home field advantage.

Russell is what NFL coaches have been trying to find for the last 2 1/2 decades: a guys with equally strong running and passing abilities. He is the dream of Kordell Stewart realized.

Russell may not have superb passing stats in terms of volume, but he is very judicious and efficient with the football. He gets first downs, he can hit small windows, he sees the whole field. But as a runner he is a truly obnoxious match up problem. In any 3rd and 5 or less situation you have a serious issue with containment because he will see the open guy if you spy him, and he will run for the first if you don't. He'll never get MVP because of all the gaudy regular season stats put up by other dudes, but in my opinion he and JJ Watt are probably the most effective offensive and defensive players in the NFL right now. JJ just needs a QB.

If Wilson can stay healthy (he protects himself well), and Pete Carroll can continue to replenish that defense as contracts swell and burst, that team will be a serious contender for a very long time.

If Ben can't take the MVP I would like a defender to get it...especially one like Watt...he is a beast on is good to his fans off the field

Especially if he clinches the division and gets the passing record with a stomach flu.

I suppose it's not as 'cool' as getting knocked out of the game and coming back to win the game and division like Farve Jr did, errrr Rogers. He's a media darling, and will always get the vote over Ben, though I think Ben deserves it this year.

Mike and Mike w/ Cris Carter had a discussion this morning where they listed their top 5 MVP candidates and they listed Aaron Rodgers, Tony Romo, Demarco Murray, J.J. Watt, and Antonio Brown and Carter quickly made a comment basically dismissing Brown.

They did this conversation a split second after talking about Big Ben leading the league in passing yards...
