To me there is a qb with a really good arm who is very elusive, but struggles with mechanics and is inconsistent every year or second year at most. If you were gonna ask me right now if the Steelers could have Lamar Jackson and take on what his salary would be the answer is no. I find it hard to believe Willis is better yet substantially better than Jackson. So I'm a hard pass. No draft, certainly no trade up.

I would say considering many of the evaluations 6th round is a little harsh. I'd take just about anyone with a 1st round grade in the 6th. If nothing else he could be a gimmick. But yeah I get.

The guy is Baker Mayfield size and only had a 61% pass completion rate at LIBERTY! GTFO with first round pick material. I wouldn't take him in the 6th.
Well....once upon a time we did draft a kid out of a small school in a lower rate conference....and....

I don't know what to think at this point. I'm going to keep looking at his tape; but I think I'd be disappointed if we move up or even take Malik in the first round...
Q. Would you want Lamar Jackson to be a Steeler tomorrow free of trade but the Steelers gotta pick up his salary?

No.

I just watched 11 minutes of highlights of Malik. See link below. IMO - the kid plays like Kyler Murray. Maybe not as bad as we're making this out to be???

In fairness, Kyler Murray’s track record when it counts is spotty to say the least. He’s great first 10 games of the season, I’ll give him that.

If you wouldn't want Lamar Jackson who has been league MVP why on earth would you want this guy. As far as Kyler Murray, tons of uneven play there too. Goes on streaks where he looks unstoppable and then he sucks and looks very glass like.
What I'm saying is I don't really want either option...

Naw, it's the guy Coach Tomlin, GM Colbert and QB Coach Sullivan are obsessed with.
Personal opinion is he's OK if you're looking for a "lottery ticket". Plenty of other positions need addressed and I'm not sure (actually don't think) Willis is worth passing on those positions. Not saying he's not a first round talent. Just don't think he's a talent that the Steelers should draft in the first round.

More like the guy the media pundits say Tomlin is obsessed with Drink. Just because he and Colbert spoke and had dinner with him during Senior Bowl week, doesn’t mean anything more than who they also spoke with.

Now it’s the combine, of which I don’t take as serious as some of the draft progs do, but Desmond Ridder sure throws a nice ball and has plenty of zip. Plus he ran a 4.5. He looks a helluava lot better than Willis.

And he's played against better competition. I like Ridder too. Just seems like he has a better upside...

Watson the big WR just blew up the Combine . He is 6 ' 4 " 203 pounds and just ran a 4.28.

What are you talking about?

I was talking about football but we could switch to Ram Pump supply elevation versus discharge elevation and efficiency of tubing size versus output qaunity.

We could also talk about Cope.!
