Out of respect, I went back and looked in this thread to see what happened.
You made a post and twice mentioned "black players" loving to play for tomlin, and leaving tomlin. Slash, rightfully so, told you to leave race out of the comment. You replied with insults rather than say that you were wrong for bringing race into the post which flared up the whole conversation with the two of you bickering and slinging petty insults.
I also noticed that you have no less than six quotes from Slash in your signature. That just isn't healthy and wreaks of an obsession of sorts.

I know there were rumblings, that Najee was the one requesting that they don't pick up his option. But like it was said, the Steelers didn't have to agree. Even as a production stand point, you have half the board saying that 1000 yards in the first four seasons is solid, and the other half saying 1000 yards isn't impressive anymore. And yet, he's the only back that's done it.
I'll also say this, it could be that Najee is just sick of Tomlin's talk, you've heard him the last couple years call the team out on how they prepare, and how they practice. I really do hope that he goes to a team with a solid OL and balls out. And I think he will, but lets look at who might be looking to upgrade their RB positions...
Cincinnati, Chicago, New Orleans, Miami, LA Chargers, Washington, New England, Jacksonville would be my guesses. And of those teams, if I'm Najee, I'm looking at the Chargers and I'm looking at Washington.
Q. Where do you come up with 6.7m. Sportrac has a projected 3 year 27 million. That's 9 and since he is a running back with his only big contract its gonna be highly guarenteed.

the 6.7m would have been his 5th year option cost.
So we got time machines now. I'd have picked up the option too. They did not. Probably because 6.7 and 9 isn't very far apart and they feel they can get the same production for the same or less. OR Najee doesn't really like how they do things but is discreet enough to keep his mouth shut.

I think he was just bringing up that it wasn't a cost thing when they declined his option, so there must be some other reasoning. And we can say production and what not, but if you can hang on to a solid starter for 6.7m, even if you plan on drafting a replacement, it creates less of a NEED at that position. And it's not like we are going to be right up against the cap this year.

I've never believed they shouod have declined the option. If I wrote it that way on here.....as the kids say my bad. I thought that was a head scratcher at the time. I think he is likely moving on now maybe because of internal reasons. As far as the production goes. In today's nfl if you are durable like him you are gonna get your 1k yards. Issues being he has 9 out of 68 games with 100 plus yards which is still the sign of a dominant back. That is almost 1 out of 8 games. That is not good. And his TD numbers are bad too 28 in 68 games. He's very durable. (Though tread on tires that can change). Excellent ball security. But he simply is not a dominant back they drafted for.

I don't fault him for his TD numbers, as our redzone offense has been downright horrible for years. We do some really dumb things once we get inside the 20.
In saying that, I got a little curious and just looked it up. Since 2018 (when both Conner and Brown did it), there has only been one player to have double digit TD's in a season. Najee Harris, he did it in 2021 and 2022 with 7 rushing and 3 receiving in each of those years. JuJu and Claypool came close in 2020 with 9 each, and Najee had 8 in '23, and Muth had 7 in '24. So yeah, not gonna be on him too much over his TD production when it's a team issue, and it's been an issue for years.

Yep, scheme, definately a huge part of the equation.
Unless that scheme changes, it won’t make a big difference who is the RB.
I would hope the off-season helps better the OL. TC should help a lot but can only go so far as Pat Meyer has peaked.

I really think we've been through this. I think they should have picked up the 6.7m. What that really tells me is there were quiet issues with the organization and team. I agree his play warrants the option. Extension is debatable.
Part of the reason they do really dumb things is tgey cannot smash it in which is line and the back. That isn't necessarily coaching.
Not that I’m signaling you out here Fiji. I have never heard more excuses for another football player than Naj.

Look at his production from middle of November- on. He simply disappears. Bottom line.

Najee frequently runs small, meaning instead of hitting a hole for 3-5 and taking the contact he fancies himself a fast back that can make the edge (which he rarely can). Najee spends too much time running laterally instead of pounding the D into submission. I think Skateboo hits the hole and takes the yardage presented form what I’ve seen of his play.
I think the big difference is Skateboo knows where his yardage is, has more guts and better vision than Najee. Najee thinks he knows where the yardage is too much instead of getting what is presented and makes an effort for that home run with his mediocre speed/burst…and fails. One or two games a year he brings that edge, but that ain’t enough.
Just my opinion but he seems to fit what AS wants to do better than how Najee takes advantage of his opportunities.
Only Time would tell, though we’ll likely never know cuz the odds Skateboo ends up in B&G are very low.
