We were all "misled" about how good Najee was. This is turning into the covid vaccine thread from P@R.

"Misled" in a # of ways. To the point of giving him so many carries that even a cripple with 1 leg could have gotten 1,000 yards a season. And that was Rooney-led at its inception, he didn't want to look a fool by wasting a 1st-round pick on a back who should have realistically been a 5th round pick. That's what you get from not demanding a 40-yard time. Art thought he was getting Derrick Henry. He surely did not. Not anywhere close. We were all "misled" about how good Najee was.
I was just talking about how he always hangs on RBs average per carry in comparisons no matter the circumstance. There is some nuance but there is no getting around the fact that 3.9 career will always be underperforming. 32 of 32 teams in the league would be looking to upgrade from a career 3.9 RB
Kaleb Johnson or any other rookie RB in the league isn't winning any fans averaging 3.9.

Or we were all "misled" how good Tomlin is schematically running a offense and defense in the NFL. Running a RB into stacked boxes all the time on first and second down for 4 seasons will have an effect on ones average......perhaps. I am just speculating though of course. We were all "misled" about how good Najee was.

So whats the Steelers solution? Go get the guy who ran into the most stacked boxes in college. Atleast its familiar territory.Or we were all "misled" how good Tomlin is schematically running a offense and defense in the NFL. He has solid football speed. Even more impressive he is a patient runner and has the vision to find the hole and the burst and power to help it along if needed. With the QB position scaring nobody it will be needed for sure.So whats the Steelers solution? Go get the guy who ran into the most stacked boxes in college. Atleast its familiar territory.
I cannot verify but I remember somebody saying Johnson averaged 4.2 yards after contact and on all of his runs that were not against a stacked box he averaged close to 10 ypc??
Sounds too good to be true but he did have a bunch of long runs.
I am excited to see what he looks like in pads. Guy looks like a specimen at OTA, 220lbs without an ounce of fat in a frame that looks like he will grow into.
Looks like this one went over a couple of people's heads. And since the best jokes are the ones you explain...well, here goes nothing:Or we were all "misled" how good Tomlin is schematically running a offense and defense in the NFL. Not to a downer but Najee looked the same way.So whats the Steelers solution? Go get the guy who ran into the most stacked boxes in college. Atleast its familiar territory.
