"Najee Harris ain't it". NAJEE 3.0 It's time to go, yo....

Josh Jacobs anyone? THIS IS WHAT 1000 TARD PRODUCTION LOOKS LIKE

Dude produces real stats…1329 yards rushing 15 Tuddies?
Played 6 seasons and 2 of them he had a sub 4 yard average. That might be a no no for any RB.....yet the elites.🤔

Jacobs last year was epic...WTF?

Get off Naj's ballz......His 1030 yards in 17 damn games can be replaced by basically anyone, ANYONE....Naj underperformed as a #1 & was rarely, if ever, the best back on the field on a Sunday ....THAT IS WHY HE IS GONE

NAJ WAS BELOW AVERAGE FOR 4 YEARS...You didn't watch the games? WHEN WAS HE EVER SPECIAL???

WAITING.....WHEN?...NAME A DAMN GAME

PLEASE NAME ONE GAME BRO IN 4 YEARS HE WAS EPIC...GIVE ME ONE DAMN GAME...JUST ONE...

Naj "Ain't it"

It's why we didn't want him for maybe even 3 million....WE NEEDED AN UPGRADE HERE....We LET HIM GO...

Why? Najee NEVER closed out games in the 4 minute drill in 4 years, ALWAYS GAVE THE DAMN BALL BACK...Never EVER sealed games AT THE END with a key first down....That is why he is gone...Do you EVER EVER remember him closing out a win? Waiting....STILL WAITING.....I will seriously wait for you to find that stat cause it does not exist...He didn't close out games as a Steeler cause I watched every game and he never sealed a win in 4 years...2 yards to 2.5 ypc at crucial times was what he gave us...

You & STILLWRIGHT may want Harris in the worst type of way, but I have seen waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy more than enuff to know WE NEED A GAME WRECKER AT RUNNING BACK... AND Naj? .....Well Naj "Ain't it"

You got najeeproblems. Hope you can take something to get over it. The guy hasn't been a Steeler for months.

I wouldn't take him now either due to his age.

But he has shown that he has the ability to have very good years.

Najee is very consistently average. That's not a bad thing. But it's not a thing you pay for on a 2nd contract IMO.

And I don't think he'd have come back to just match the deal he got. Because coming back at a discount has players losing face. And since we don't structure deals like that, he probably would have had a contract with a higher floor, but not performance bonuses.

Najee's a better fit with the Chargers anyway. They have a real QB. So it's OK for them to have a consistently average RB. Since we didn't have a QB, we designed our offense to need a very good RB. And that's just not Najee.

You are so right..Gotta focus on the next play...

Hey STEELER NATION we are getting SANDERS...
Then you can focus on SANDERS. At least he will be a steeler. To your credit you are not blowing up every post with CLOWNLIN ****

He played well the week after some no named blogger called him out in an interview.

Any of the Najee truthers want to bet Hampton vs Harris?
LOL
Simmer down. The guy gave you a bet proposal no need to start slinging insults.
Calling all Najee truthers
Hampton vs Harris?
I got Hampton
Nothing portrays confidence in Najee like taking Hampton in the first
LOL

Last year Dobbins had 195 carries and Edwards had 101 carries. 296 for the top 2 guys. They had a total of 463 rushing plays all season.

For us, Najee had 263 carries and Warren had 120. 383 for the top 2 guys. We had a total of 533 rushing plays all season (15% more than they did).

We just run a lot more than most other teams.

Interestingly, both teams had the same YPC (4.1).

If they have approximately the same number of rushes next year as they did last year, then Najee's carries will probably go down. Even if he's more of a "bell cow" than he was with us.

I agree with you that they currently have only replacement level guys behind him. So my guess is that they pick up a cheap vet or draft a RB in this deep class to split carries with him.
With the 22nd overall pick, Chargers select: Omarion Hampton (RB)

Backfield just got a lot more crowded for Najee.

SteveA you got your new RB, though they compare him to najee (who aint it), go figure.

Still think they are different styles with a couple of similarities, like size, stiff arm, tackle breaking capacity, holding to the rock.

Now, vision, THAT Kaleb has in spades above Najee.

FWIW I was hoping for someone faster.

Per Scout's Eye (Williamson), his mph data in games is faster than his 40 time might suggest. He also faced the 2nd most heavy boxes last year in NCAA. And the least number of light boxes. He was on a team where he was most of the offense.

Has a lot of 20+ yard runs. Hoping some site goes through his carries like the Depot contextualization of Najee's explosives in college. I think that post really showed how Najee's big runs in college was a product of his OL. Would be interesting to see if the rook is the same.

Unlike Najee, he sounds like he isn't super well-rounded. One of the things that Najee was good at that didn't show up on the stat sheet was pass pro. He eventually got passed by Warren here, but I think that's because Warren is elite at this, not that Najee isn't good. Najee is probably also a better receiver out of the backfield.

So Johnson's a big guy. But it sounds like he might have more big play ability than Najee (who didn't have much in this area). But it also sounds like he'll need work to be the complete back Najee was.

In the 3rd, this seems like a good pick to me. But we'll see when they play games.

And Spades is trump!!!

Cuz vision is a massively underrated trait for a RB.
It allows for setting blocks and anticipation of rushing lanes. Backs without vision will always struggle where backs with vision turn 2-3 yard runs into 8-10 yarders. To me I’ll take vision over 40 time all day in a RB.

If you’re a boundary corner sure 40 becomes more important, for a back…not so much.

Hard not to like the way the new addition runs.

the Steelers arguably got the best RB in the draft after the consensus top 2, Johnson is part of a 2nd tier (with Henderson and Judkins) that is the best of the rest; now let's deep a little here:

- Though Henderson was generally (slightly) favored due to his athleticism (amazing combine numbers), his suspect durability is an important factor to consider for a guy you want to become the lead back. Getting a player at 3.83 with similar value to one drafted at 2.38, we are talking a +40 picks gap is a huge win for the Steelers.

- Judkins is another RB with very good combine numbers but also with very good size for the position and good ball security but his production is not elite though, unlike the other two. Drafted @2.36, even ahead of Henderson, again, we are talking about a guy ranked similar to Kaleb but taken 40+ picks before.

Conclusion: the Steelers got a steal at RB, even if Kaleb is not as pass savvy as Henderson, the team has a very good 3rd down back already on the team in Jaylen Warren and got a decent 3rd down backup in Gainwell. With this draft pick the RB group gets really really balanced and looks like one to be featured as the staple of the Offense. Drafting another fast, small RB wasn't going to complement what the team already had and we got a bull with vision and acceleration.

I think anyone comparing Johnson to Najee is just making a lazy comparison based on size alone. Most actual draft analysts have the two as quite different backs and I think you highlighted his upside very nicely in your latest post!

RB is a crapshoot considering a 60/40 1st rd bust rate. Sometimes teams steal guys late, guys like Bucky Irving #125, Kyren Williams #164, Bell at #48.
He wasn't anyone's first choice but Kalebs size is usually a plus. North south guy with vision, patience and acceleration but no top gear. His tape does look like he plays faster than he tests and he seems to have ridiculous feel and anticipation at the second level in space. Like a poor mans Bell without the insane lateral agility. Close to Bell's size, fits the scheme well, and isn't 5'8 is a plus as we already have 2 guys in that frame. I think the Steelers got good value as nobody projected him to go after the 3rd and many people had him ranked much higher.
I like that he's not a fumbler and that he was 50% of Iowa offensive production, avg 143 yd/game is ridiculous when the defense knows its going to him.
Pickens and Metcalf should back the defenses off and let this kid eat, I'm pumped

Loving it & really it is why Naj was average....Huge difference when you see & hit the hole...If you watch any game with me I will yell to ANY RB....Hit the hole
