Next year's coach?

Wouldn’t shock fans as they think Rooney is just happy in his pockets.

No fan shouldn’t be surprised as the man was extended under equally disappointing circumstances. What is one more two more?

At this point I would be surprised if they didn’t.

I'd love to hire Marcus Freeman.

Oh to be a dirtbag that calls people racist when they, in fact, are the selfish little dirtbag.

I sure hope so. Of course this is hypothetical and based on the idea that he would want to leave Buffalo.

The only thing the Steelers have to offer at this point that is attractive is the fact that any guy who signs here will have plenty of time to build what he wants to build without the pressure of possibly being terminated.

That is the stabilization drawing factor !!!

I would be better than the current leadership. I would hire some of yinz to be coordinators, assistants, water boys, etc.

I’ll apply for the “Water Boy” position as long as I get the “girlfriend” in the end…………………

I agree. And, to be clear, I threw his name out there BECAUSE he never got a shot.

KC's offense was dynamic when he was there; but some here think I'm suggesting him because of the hue of his skin. They're wrong...

Never thought that at all berm, you and I both want what’s best for the Steelers and Bienemy is a legitimate candidate. I told you my reasoning as to why not, but know that I am open as I’m no expert on hiring NFL coaches.

Here's my full list from another thread:

OCs
-Klint Kubiak (OC Seattle) - Mixed results as an OC, but has been with three different teams. He's coaching under one of the better young defensive-minded head coaches right now, so you assume he has control over the offense. Kept Sam Darnold's success from Minnesota going and has one of the best offenses in the league and helped turn JSN into a superstar this year.

-Klay Kubiak (OC SF) - Lacks experience and Kyle Shanahan still runs the show, but he has a heck of a system that has the 49ers performing even with key injuries.

-Mike LaFelur (OC LAR) and Nate Scheelhaase (pass game coordinator LAR) - I'm interested in any offensive-minded coach under the McVay coaching tree. Zac Taylor, Matt LaFleur, Kevin O'Connell. McVay is arguably the best coach in the league and the Rams just had one of the more impressive rebuilds since their last Super Bowl. I think this would really modernize the Steelers approach on offense.

DCs
-Chris Shula (DC LAR) - He's helped build a strong defense with the Rams, including young draft picks performing well early on. His NFL pedigree certainly doesn't hurt.

-Kelvin Sheppard (DC Detroit) - Young DC, though lacks experience as a coordinator. He's done pretty well in his first year on the job.

College
-Marcus Freeman - I think he has the type of demeanor and style to translate from the college game to the NFL. He's recruited a lot of former Steelers' sons to play there, so they are impressed what what he is doing. He's been to a CFP title game and is a face-of-the-franchise type coach.

2nd-Time HCs
-*Sean McDermott - Big *if* is if he gets fired. Classic good coach who can't reach the big game, but he's had Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes in his way. In 8 full seasons, he's had 6 10+ win seasons and has won a playoff game in 5 of 7 appearances. He's a good coach who could have learned through playoff failures.

Austin looks like a good hire.

/Rooney

Jesse minter is our next coach the deal is done… word in the berg the deal is done Tomlin goes upstairs, unless someone is willing to cough up draft picks, and minter is the next Steeler HC

The entire coaching staff needs to go, but Rooney doesn't have the balls to make the move. He is too worried about the money he has to pay them. He doesn't care about the product on the field. We have 2 more years of this garbage.

I heard that pie in the sky from a friend. Upstairs to what. GM. No one is taking this job with Tomlin around. Not happening. If he forgoes salary they can release him. I have no idea who would trade for this ****. For God's sake Rooney you are paying 16 million dollars a year to either watch this bulshit or not. Another 6-8 for a young coach with some offensive acumen isn't going to break yiur precious piggy banks. You cheap *****.
