NFL 2022 draft thread

Steelers should have taken
Trent McDuffie CB
Jermaine Johnson - Edge
George Karlaftis - edge
Devin Lloyd LB - then trade Bush for a bag of peanuts
Kaiir Elam CB
Jaquan Brisker S - it's a huge need and he won't fall to steelers in rd 2
David Ojabo - Edge

My problem with Pickett is not that he'll be bad. It's that he'll just be middle of the pack and I think that's worse because it may lead to the steelers wasting 5 or 6 years on him because they keep getting the 6 seed in the playoffs and he looks good at times. It's false hope.

I feel bad for mitch, must be the alcohol talking
I'm of the same mindset due to the same, I will say if someone offers us a three or four do it in a second.

thats where I am at... I dont think he is going to be a bust or an all pro... I think he will be good enough to win with a solid team around him but he thwarts any hope to even start finding the next true HOF QB for four or five or even six years now.....he is a good guy and has serious leadership skills...

I didn't want QB in round one but resigned myself to it as the draft approached. You got a guy they saw as much as they wanted and had the top Qb grade in the draft. They didn't move up to get him as it was said would happen many times. I know it was a bad class but they really saw him and they had him as the best Q. In college football. I think there is some serious upside here.

I figure it like this. If Trubisky is a home run you didn't give up the farm for Pickett. Like the 49ers are boxed in. Garoppolo took them to the NFC championship but they paid up for Lance. Jimmy G is gonna be gone. If Trubisky is great it's not like you couldn't get a high 2 for Pickett.

Good God the Ravens just crushed it tonight. Hamilton and Linderbaum and you get rid of Hollywood Brown for 1st and a 4th. Arizona is run by a bunch of dumbasses.
No, AJ Brown netted the Titans a first and a fourth. The Ravens only got the one first from AZ

ONLY silver lining to that pick.
They stayed at #20 and gave up nothing to move up to get him.

I doubt he'll play this year which is a good thing because Matt Canada will still be the OC and Shades will need one more year with a new QB to realize that he sucks at his job.

I hope not. I think everyone is now thinking that you need a QB that can get a score in :13 like Mahommes did against the Bills and all other aspects of the game don’t matter. I really hope that isn’t what the NFL has become - whoever gets the ball last wins. Just hold a QB skills competition… and make sure the OT rules accommodate every ******* scenario.

Which player is everyone taking at 1.20 instead of Pickett? Trading down isn't an option.

Kaiir Elam CB Florida

Shut-down CB. Great against great SEC WR's. Long arms, fast, quick, mixes it up with WR's. Can take on Chase 1-on-1.

Unless they finish above .500 then O'Canada will be good enough because their plan is coming together.

It is time to EMBRASE and open our hearts to the new QB..

I want him to do well and realize he was the best QB in this draft.

We knew we were taking a QB and I'm pretty sure neither would be there in the second.

We lost NO draft capital and have Mitch Trubisky whom I hope blows the doors off and makes Kenny tradeable if need.

Mitch is also a very "cap" friendly deal and if we end up with two superb QBs then that's a good problem.

Welcome to the PITTSBURGH STEELERS Kenny and here's to you holding up the STEELERS tradition(s).

I agree. Plus I hope the Steelers get back to effectively running the ball, controlling the LOS, the TOP, and keep the D rested so they can come in, blast the hell out of the opposing offense,,I want to see 3 n augts become commonplace when we are on D. Something that doesn't happen often with a pass happy offense. A balanced approach will go a long way.

Excellent train of thought, thank you JMM.

I want near the same but also be able to score fast upon need. We have to keep the pass fore-front as that is what the league is desiring.

YES, get control of the game with the balanced attach and keep the rock on the ground because we can but also be able to zing & zip when needed. I think this will be our offensive stratagy seeing how we have one of the best RBs in the game. I just hope our OL has caught up.

We still have several picks in this draft and I hope like hell they get a day one OL starter. If it's a choice between DL or OL I hope the OL is their calling on or before 3rd pick.

I don’t mind the pick. I THINK I like it. I just don’t understand it. The way I see it, we have a real wildcard with Mitch. Give him a year. If he flashes greatness, awesome. If he stinks up the joint, maybe we get better than 20 during perhaps a stronger QB class next year.

Best case scenario they both get some playing time and impress and the Steelers are able to trade one (probably Trubisky) for a high pick.

That was a possibility sure. One that I had hoped for even. But the known. We know Rudy isn't the answer. We know Mitch might and might not do well. That is a 50/50. Steelers will never be a tank now team. If it happens whatever, but they won't purposely set themselves up to fail. Without a franchise and bringing in someone with an element of unknown if you don't bring in competition you are setting yourself up possibly to fail. As a GM as a head coach your job to put the team in the best position to succeed. Not next year now. You can revisit the situation next year if need be. But this year you need something more than a never will be and a recently benched. I want to win and don't want a GM that doesn't have that mind frame. Just win baby.

Logan Hall to the bucs...****. Here goes a run on D-line.

Coolie's boy just went to the Bucs.
