NFL 2022 draft thread

Right after Matt Canada left Pitt.....
Not exactly right after. Like, what, three years after Canada left for Maryland? Maybe 4

Edit: Actually Canada left Pitt for LSU in 2016. Pickett was only at Pitt from 2017 through 2021.

Pickett isn't starting this year. Rudy I think has one more year on his contract so after next season he's gone.
Picket came from a pro style offense. I would think they wouldn't throw him to the wolves but out of all the QBs in this class the rumbling was he was the most pro ready. I won't rule him out as a starter. I think he will give that room a run for their money.

One last ride for Tombert Logic.

Well man, that's all I got. I'm hoping he's a success right off the bat. We only have Cam for a couple more years realistically. TJ is entering his prime. So, it would benefit us all to say a few prayers for Kenny Pickett's immediate success.
Hope and prayers ... that's really all I got.
I'm glad you have a positive attitude. Seriously I am.

This is gonna take a while to sink in and I need some healing time...

No, I'm actually faking it and hoping that I can fool myself into truly believing it. And that's the God's honest truth.
I don't even want to think about how bad it could really get.

I just don't understand the reluctance to trade down. I'm sure teams made offers, trade back and go again. The first 20 of the second round is loaded.

As far as the Ravens killing it, I don't agree. Hamilton didn't fall due to oversight and Linderbaum will be a serviceable/good center. If Pittsburgh had those two picks I wouldn't be celebrating.

Patriots Take Cole Strange, how would you feel.

Cole Strange to the Patriots. Who?
Yeah and i think he is the guy thats good everywhere but not great at any one thing at the position… it just is hard to adjust to solid instead of spectacular at the qb position
He is, no special traits at all. But did we really think the Steelers were going to draft another Hall of Famer right after Ben retired? I've seen Pickett compared to Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, and Andy Dalton when he was at his best. All three of those guys are productive and capable of leading their teams to the playoffs. Next year you don't know what's out there at QB and a lot of QB needy teams passed this year probably in hopes of taking for Stroud or Young. After that the group is currently lackluster.

Pickett wasn't at the top of my board, but the way the draft fell, it really became apparent QB was the only direction the Steelers were going to go with CB as the only other potential option. The first round fell in a bad way for the Steelers for any position except QB.

Watched enough of him at Pitt… he never gave me the feeling that Ben did that last season in college… he isn’t a system built guy and he isnt raw.. he has a couple minor technical issues that are fixable. He has a moderate nfl arm and can make all the nfl throws.

I just don’t get that feeling that he can carry an offense or routinely have comeback wins like the greats do…

Give him a run game, a good oline, good wrs, and a D and he will win…
So what you’re saying is, if ALL the other 21 players are ALL-PROs, we got our man?

Oh wow. Drama much, dude?

Pickett is our QB and rightfully so. Don't like that? Oh well ..

After months of preparation I somehow don't think they were still debating on which QB to take when they were on the clock.
Unless they had two rated close together?

Hey ... Go **** yourself.
And bring us back a citation to prove you did it.

Tombert Logic

It's a Quarterback-driven league.
Nobody wanted any of these Quarterbacks in the first 19 picks of the draft.
So we have to take one now before they're all gone.
