NFL AWARDS night ......... good luck TJ winners listed as announced

If the 50 AP members who vote don't make their selections public and what was the logic/criteria for the selections they made, they shouldn't be allowed to be involved in the process ever again.
This is what gets me. And it’s no sour grapes for me. I just would like some accountability. If they explain why they voted the way they did,and the ones who simply left him off the list….tell me why.

Josh Allen had nearly 50 TDs and LJ is all they talk about all season and he can't hit the side of a barn consistently.
Yeah……I’m done watching pro football lol. Good luck fellers and hopefully the Steelers win you hardcore fans a 7th trophy granted if the league isn’t rigged etc.

He wasn't ahead of TJ in any stats.
No no the new stats. For example I calculate Ben's yards passing after contact multiplied by his non cheating SB appearances divided by pi gives him a higher QBXR to the power of 3 rating. Therefore Ben is better then Brady. Case closed.

Even if he was the best by far in his position? Should that not be recognized? Why punish him?
It’s got nothing to do with Hines Ward here.
I ll tell you the difference. Hester's accolades and accomplishments were compiled against second team back up Sp. Team guys.

I also get that Hester was the best returner ever. He had 20 return touchdowns, so he basically made the Hall of Fame because of 20 plays over an 11-year career.

And 16 receiving TDs. So basically the equivalent of 36 TDs in 11 years. That's 3.5 years of an elite receiver output. To me a best of the generation kicker like Tucker gets in because he is not capable of playing an offense and defense position. If you are capable of playing a position but not good enough to start or have impact. You do not belong in HOF.

Hester belongs in the HOF.
He made an impact at a very low impact position, and in an era when many teams didnt kick to returners very much...

QB's are High impact positions, but not every great qb belongs in the HOF. Punters are low impact positions, but that doesnt mean the greatest dont belong in the HOF.
KR and PR are legit positions. This guy was the best at that. I hold no grudges seeing him in there

The thing is, I think BEN is better than t*mmyb*y, BEN didn’t cheat And I don’t need a lot of math to figure that out.

Love your analogy and humor applied, thanks.

Salute the nation

What about the best blocking fullback? Or better yet best blocking wr ever who by the way had 1000 catches 12000 yards and more than 80 TDs

You mean like every other kick returner? He was by far the best at his position. Wasn’t just 20 td’s he constantly put his team in great field position. Who has the second most TD’s ? Is it even close? It’s a team game. You as a ******* coach should know that better than most. This is a position on the field. He’s been the best by far. I can’t believe I’m even defending this guy. He deserves to be in because he was the best at his position by far.

If he was a Steeler you’d be talking about how everyone screws the Steelers or whatever hare brained bull- **** you come up with. Good God.
You guys ******** on some other person because you’re salty that Ward hasn’t gotten in or that TJ didn’t win DPOY or what ******* ever ……I just don’t know what else to say.

I have no problem with them getting in. It’s you that has the problem obviously.

No my only problem is Hester in with his 14000 plus total yards of which probably 8000 are forfeited by coverage teams only at best being able to stop a returner for 20 yards per return on a kick off and 7 on a punt. 20 x every kickoff he returned is a hell of a lot of yards. Ward is not in with his 12000 and more than twice as many tds of which not one inch is for free.

In fact doing the math 295 returns x 20 untouched yards is just a sliver under 6000. That is the kickoffs alone. I bet he has somewhere around 1800 yards on kickoffs past the first 15-20 free yards total career.

That’s what it is. How do you lead the candidates in every statistical category and lose?

I’ve stopped watching most games for quite sometime. Think I’m just about done with the league
Even a better question is how do you award Watt the AFCDPOY, as the best in the conference. Then award Garret the League DPOY, when you just said he wasn’t the best in the AFC?

The problem with your argument is that Hester was recognized by the HOF as a PR/KR. He is the best all time in that role. He was not enshrined because he was a WR.

Ward is in the WR category. You are. Comparing apples to zucchinis.

Agreed. It’s a popularity contest, commercialized awards

The Hall of Fame is about the best football players, not best football players at their individual positions.

This is my point right here. It is the pro football hall of fame. I accept kickers and punters, but someone has been greatest long snapper of all time with some kind of metric they use.

Another one I have a big problem with is Patrick Willis in James Harrison not.

There you go again. Patrick Willis was a great player. And deserves to be in. He’s a 5 time nominee. Took him a couple try’s to get in.
James Harrison is also a great, great player. His story is not over. It might take him a couple tries to get in. But he will get in.

Patrick retired in 2014…..James in 2017. See where I’m going with this? Or did you expect James to be an anonymous first year ballot? I sure didn’t expect that. And James is one of my favorite Steelers.

I just think Harrison is a better player. Willis is in. I don't think Harrison will get in and certainly not in next three.

Guys like James and Hines did change the rules. Patrick Willis does deserve to get in. He was dominant at his position during his time. But players who’ve impacted the game through rule changes definitely deserve a nod

not sure why anyone is surprised by the TJ snub. Spinanfall told us a few weeks ago that white players are no where near as good as black players hence Garrett is way better than Watt.

When it comes to sports white people = good for buying ****. black people = better for making millions and collecting awards.

sorry but it's the new woke world we live in because in any other world TJ would have THREE DPOY awards not one.

Those are the demographics now. The league has become politicized. It’s easy for me to not get caught up in it anymore. At the end of the day all 32 franchises are just billion dollar marketing entities.

Of course I like to see the Steelers win, but the amount of money involved with in the league. Nobody is really losing other than the novelty fans have attached to it
