The combine is underway and we are getting a look at the QBs and WRs.

Pickett ran well but Ridder with a very impressive 4.49 40.

Chris Olave...4.26 40. Absolutely blazing speed from one of the top receivers in the draft.

Skyy Moore is a popular mid-round choice for the Steelers ran a 4.39 40.

Maybe we get a shot at a really good and fast WR, we definately need one.

Salute the nation

I would take Ridder in the second no questions asked and would be ecstatic with him in the third. If he throws well I would even consider a trade down in the first to get him late.
Man that would be great… I feel like he isn’t a day 1 starter but tons of potential there…. He is on my draft if the value is there list

Ridder did look real smooth in all the drills. He has a nice arm and can throw bullets on a rope. It isn’t football, but he’s got some nice motion. Doubt the 4.49 holds, they weren’t finalizing 40 times until all players for the day had finished (weird).

Carson Strong definitely has a howitzer. Wouldnt be surprised if he threw a 70 yard in the air.

Yeah, Moore just bumped his stock…..definitely early third or higher. Don‘t think he dropped one pass, and some of those QBs were throwing garbage.

These 40 times are bullshit. Guys now train to run this so it’s not as accurate a measure as it used to be. Now you have guys running these times and on film they don’t play near that fast. Also I would not put it past Goodell to have a 39 yard track out there. He wants everything to be a show.

Skyy Moore in the 3rd would be great.

Olave with the 4.26...just think what he will run at his pro-day! :ROFLMAO:

* BREAKING *

Rich Eisen just ran a 4.83. Some are beginning to wonder about the legitimacy of these 40 times.

I would take Olave if he fell in 1. That speed just wow. And has production to go with it. If not I would be happy with Skyy in 3.

I wonder if Skyy is going to last till 3. His showing yesterday may have him flyying up the board.

Also, it seems that of the tOSU WRs, Wilson is the one they're (most?) interested in. He appears on all the lists of WRs the Steelers have met with/interviewed; while Olave doesn't appear on any. Of the two, my preference would be Olave also. More complete route tree, better agility ... just "smoother".
Don't get me wrong, I'd be ecstatic with Wilson ... But I'd prefer Olave.
Of course, I'd prefer OL in the first .... so there's that also.

Why go bargain basement with OSU guys when they can just draft Dotson from PSU?

The Steelers WR situation is about who they plan to keep. Are they going to resign both DJ and JuJu? If so then go for a deep threat to push Claypool. If you plan to let DJ go then you need a shifty route runner with RAC ability. If you let JuJu go then you want a versatile WR that can be a possession guy.

With so many WRs available in every draft now, I wouldn’t pay big money for too many guys.

If the Steelers keep DJ and JuJu then they just need depth at WR. If they are letting one of them go the they need a guy who can start either in the draft or free agency.

I think this could be a top heavy offensive draft for the Steelers.

lmao

I could see it going either way. I'd really like to see the Steelers sign two offensive linemen to solidify this group and then add a receiver with speed on day one or two. There are some good offensive line prospects, I just don't know how I feel about hoping a rookie will be a difference maker when this line could potentially have three starters with three or fewer years experience. A fourth added to that group is asking a lot.

We need a vet FA badly, then yeah, draft an olineman in 2nd or 3rd round unless one of the top falls in the 1st

They can run 40s and I wouldn't say it means nothing. However, with computers and video with players in equipment, I'm pretty sure you can measure football speed real well. Wr. Runs a 9 route. What happens when the ball is in the air? Corner transitions and ball is in the air. What happens? I don't need a 40 time for that. All I need is his acceleration rate.

This is a crazy deep receiver draft. Steelers should get a decent one in day three if they choose to wait. Howell showed quite the arm. 59mph is elite. That’s 90 percentile of QB’s. Still don’t want a QB early but Howell in the second is something I could stomach at least.

Why do the players tank tops have shoulder pads?
