AFC championship game is why some people think the game is rigged or atleast heavily influenced. That was criminal last night. Giving the Cheifs an extra down and then the ticky tack late hit call, in that situation. Embarrasing to be a fan of a league with that level of integrity.
I hate cincy as much as anyone but that was just unimaginable? Like when the Saints got screwed out of the playoffs, multiple times.
On another note
Watching the end all I could think was Big Ben drives the ball down the field in the ugliest most unimaginable way and wins the game. Thats the difference between a great QB and an all time great QB.

Cinci got a lot of calls or missed calls benefiting them in that game. The play in question about getting an "extra" play is bogus. They showed the official coming onto the field with his arms in the air blowing the whistle. He then had to get out of the way due to the players (and other officials) not hearing the whistle. Apparently, this happened twice in the game due to crowd noise. The league needs to figure that one out. And, the "ticky-tack" late hit call sucked but was 100% the correct call. Mahomes was well out of bounds when he pushed him in the back twice. The officials missed many calls in both games but those 2 you mention were legitimate.

Mahomes had already taken 2 steps out of bounds before Ossai pushed him.
Wasn't ticky tack at all, considering how hard he pushed Mahomes.

That wasn't a tricky tacky late hit. He pushed him way out of bounds. I was surprised at the sheer stupidity of the player but it was a valid penalty.
yep.......If he would have done it right at the sideline, he may have gotten away with it. He knew that he was way out of bounds and just kept pushing. What a dumbass.

You have five and dime officials and fans are surprised when they make horrible calls or no calls. NFL gets what it pays for. The one redo play they need to tweak the rule and make it work. Perhaps when they sit down for their yearly tweaks they will tweak that one.

On a side note. Mahomes was a pusssy for whining about it.

Was he? If that was Pickett would you be glad he complained? A hobble horse of a QB that toughed it out to play in a game in the critical moments gets pushed way out of bounds? In general that QB should be complaining to secure that penalty injury or no injury.

I don't care for the guy but not sure there isn't a QB that doesn't go WTF there.

By rule the 3rd down play is a no play… had the chiefs thrown for a first down, a td, an interception, incompletion or run it back out of the end zone for a safety it would not have stood because it should have been blown dead before the play… in those cases its just a non play… the refs only botched catching it too late… not the call..

And tge late hit out of bounds was extremely late… don’t let the back shot freeze frame fool you… he was still following through with the hit when Mahomes was extremely out of bounds… freeze frames from the side show it wasn’t a love tap either.. he shoved him hard from behind while he was running and that is extremely dangerous … you blow out knees like that…

To recap, the Bengals are whiney losers who lost, then whined about it…they still believe Kimo intentionally hurt Palmer and now that Twitter is conspiring against them… they are morons.
besides, beating incompetent reffing is something both teams have to do every game…

When they lost this year it was due to the refs
When they lost last year, it was due to the refs when they lost vs us when pacman and burfict gave us the game, it was because of the refs.. when they lost in 05, it was the refs…
Go back and read the non steelers playoff losses threads they had… the league just totally hates them or something

Those whiney ******* whine every damn time about everything… hell they were whining about the cancelled game not instantly gifting them HFA throughout the playoffs….

This post is what's embarrassing. That wasn't ticky tacky in the least and could have injured both Mahomes and himself for no reason. The extra down didn't amount to anything and was exactly the correct call if arguably awkward, the video clearly sows the ref running in and blowing the whistle as the clock was running when it shouldn't have been. Imagine if the Chiefs had scored on that play. This was no where near what happened to the Aints. It was simply bad optics but absolutely correct.

Oh horseshit

there is video of the Field Judge (or which ever ref) running in to stop the play. The clock was running when it should not have been. Yes it sucks for the bungles but it was the right call and the chiefs punted a few plays later....big ******* deal

and that was a shove in the back two steps out of bounds, ******* idiotic play. no reason for it at all

**** the bungles

Well the ref blew it he said before the play the play clock and clock should start on his signal at least I think I heard him say that

Ticky tack? The dumb **** was a full step out of bounds, and hit the qb. He's a ******* moron, and I'm glad he's a Bengal. Now, on to the bigger part of this post, the NFL isn't rigged, for ***** sake, 11 guys on each side of the field, 50 plus grown men, all would need to be in on the rigging, as well as the coaches, refs, etc. It's ******* ludicrous, two people can keep a secret, as long as one of them, is dead. That's an old saying, but it's true, there is no ******* way the NFL is rigged. Incompetence is the most logical explanation, and being as the two dumb ***** in the booth seemed shocked that there was an intentional grounding call, when I was telling my wife the second he threw that ball "That's grounding. ******* grounding, isn't anyone going to mention he dirted the ball at the olinemans feet, grounding?" Finally, they are like, wait, is that a flag, ok look, grounding. And I like Romo, but he screwed the pooch there.

Anyway, **** the Bengals and the arrogant dickheaded fans. :)

I watched both games yesterday mainly due to the miserable weather. Personally, I thought it was a terrible day for NFL officiating.

First, the disparity in numbers. The visiting teams were called for a combined 21 penalties. The home teams only 8.

While I can't dispute that many of the calls were actual penalties, I took issue with the inconsistent standards. Cincy was called for a few PI calls while KC's defensive backs were permitted an equal amount of contact. While Mahommes was shoved in the back out of bounds and it should be a penalty, so should contact to the QB's head which was not called on KC.

The most aggregious of the day to my eyes, Philadelphia's RT basically hugged, tackled and held Joey Bosa all day long and took Bosa out of the game. No flags. None.

During that game, was texting with one of my best friends from high school (an Eagles fan, I have never understood why). He agreed that the Eagles were getting home field advantage from the officials and that it was a bad look for the league. He was happy to be receiving it, but didn't think the game was being called legit. Kudos for the honesty.

I don't give two farts for any of the 4 teams who played yesterday so my usual Steelers Bias wasn't in play. I share a doubt over the integrity of those games. For whatever reason, they appeared to be playing out a predertermined outcome.

flag was thrown before Mahomes stopped sliding, though

Cincy screwed themselves over at the end. However the sequences prior does draw the conspiracy crowd.

I stopped watching after the pi on Hilton.
The Saints game is an example as well.

It’s a multi billion dollar business. There will be corruption as is the case with any major corporation.

I think a 2008 Steelers team marches downfield.
I also think Harrison or Polamalu smack Kelce around

Cinci also had several obvious holds not called. I mean, when a guys jersey is almost ripped off, it becomes pretty obvious and easy to make the calls. When they didn't seem to want to call the obvious and were calling the questionable calls, all I could do was shake my head and laugh. The Beagles game was the same way. They were calling everything on the 9ers and they made the Beagles look like good little choir boys. NFL officiating sucks and will continue to do so until they are made full-time employees.

Agree with the calls or not, the nfl screws up too much, to the benefit of a few. The Jessie James crime was a great example. The late hit on Mahomes was late and a penalty. The free-replay of the 3rd down was legit, but handled poorly.

There were a few calls yesterday like that, and only watched a little bit of the games. I saw the replay on the Eagles TD which wasn't. To protect the badge (to quote an idiot), they need to fix this.

Players don’t need to be in on the fix. All it takes is bad officiating to ruin a game.

It looked like he was falling as he pushed him which would have increased the force. Still stupid on his part but also in real time these guys just never know if someone it giving up truly or not. The more egregious call was on the return the blatant hard block in the back right in front of a ref (2 feet away) that they just managed to not see. The replay showed it and the coach was screaming to them about it. The amount of calls and the times of the calls were very suspect. The extra 3rd down play was atrocious. There is no way whether on purpose or not that the refs did not affect the outcome of this game. Really really bad look for the NFL in my opinion.

I said it last night that was a stupid *** penalty to take by Ossai pushing Patrick when he was out of bounds. The LAST thing you want to do is help a high powered offense like the Chiefs with mere seconds left on the clock. I feel bad for the young man but you simply CANNOT make those stupid mistakes.
Don't know if Butker would have made the FG had not the penalty been tacked on but certainly would have been much more of a challenge for him.
