The league won't do anything to Wilson because it brings attention. They act like they want to protect players and stop fist fighting but that's bullshit. It will change either when Wilson permanently injures someone, or someone permanently injures him. I'm really hoping the latter happens first.

The sad part is that Tom Wilson is a good hockey player. I read somewhere that the Pens were very high on him and intended to draft him but the Caps got there first. He can play a skilled game. Why he has accepted this role of goon is beyond me. He is so much better than that.

I noticed that too. Solid passing the puck and good on defense. Cooke was the same way.

There is nothing wrong with playing physical hockey. A lot of players that are better than Tom Wilson have done it and still do it. What Tom Wilson does is go around head hunting. He is looking to injure people. Guy could be a 20 goal a year forward. Should be, playing with Ovechkin and Kuznetsov. No, he just goes around the village cutting off heads.

Physical hockey is an exciting part of the game.

But agree with Sarge.
Wilson is constantly going for a prone player.
 
3-1 Caps.
I wouldn't count Vegas out of this though. They need to be smarter in the offensive zone.
Their speed is pretty Pens like when they get going, not gonna lie, they may be faster than our 2016 squad. Only difference is our lines were bringing it

That was killer. Tuch needs to shoot from his knees.
You know Crosby would of hit that.


Vegas' top line is playing scared. Tuch, Marchesault and Karlsson are worried about getting hit right now.
Funny to see cause I think LA and Winnipeg were heavier hitting teams. But you can tell how much of an impact Wilson is having.

Once that top line gets going, I like Vegas' chances.
 
Will be a fun game saturday.
I have no doubt VGK can get a game or even both in DC.
 
Holtby is definitely winning the game between the pipes. MAF looks like he's struggling at times. Should be a hell of a game on Saturday. Vegas tried to out hit the Caps and I think that's a game they'll quickly lose. Need to balance physicality but out skate them and pepper Holtby with shots especially high glove side.
 
I missed the game ,but I'll catch it Saturday. Looks like Vegas had 39 shots on goal and plenty of powerplay chances to get it done.
 
Holtby made the save of the game at the end, that would have tied it. People call it a desperation save, but as a goalie, when you are down and have no chance of filling the space between the pipes and your body, you put the paddle down and take away the low. Sometimes you get lucky and the player doesn't lift the puck. That happened here and it was a great reaction save to take away the low.
 
Yeah, all Tuch has to do is get that in the air. Six damn inches, tie game. Probably thought he had him beat and wanted to get the shot off quickly.

The Pens never had that kind of speed. Yeah they were fast in 2016, but no one else really was. This Knights team can flat out fly. Hell even the Caps look pretty damn fast.

Caps are physical. VGK is fast. They are probably the fastest team I've seen to date.

All aside it's 0-0.
VGK needs to get skating. Caps physicality is throwing them off.
 
Just turned it on with one min left in the first. I see I didn't miss anything.
