nice mock!

Not to sell Houssenhouermama short but when he stepped in (he is pure depth) he made that offensive line way better. should have been inserted week 6 (we knew by that time our 3rd rnd pick wasn't cutting it).

yes, and Sievenauer was ******* abysmal the season prior. He seemed to step up (when called upon) in a contract year.

Only the girl on a corner got pushed more back in the pocket. I will paint you a clear picture. He didn't excel in the run or in pass protection. As most capable linemen improve as the season progresses he simply didn't. Not sure what boxes he checks unless there is a box labeled, "most likely to get their **** pushed in."
Don't forget the box labeled "Forces QB to be mobile by wildly snapping the ball all over hell's half acre."

I hear yaz Supe and fully agree. Sievenauer is pure depth and just that. I would hope a year under his belt that GREEN would be looking at the Siev in a rear view mirror but not sold enough on GREEN as a center to believe that is possible.

We need a Starting FA Center.!

The Steelers are not going to jump ship on their center Green... Yes he needs to improve aspects of his game but for a rookie that was not a full time center in college I'm not complaining. The steelers love their athletic centers... Turner was a huge liability over green. Green needs to show improvement bottom line.
W'sup Bama?!?! Good to have another alum here.

My take on Green - he's naturally a G. There are some C's in this draft that fit our scheme very well. Dohnovan West is the guy I'm pimping at that position...

Here's my line going into the season:

LT - Moore
LG - Green
C - West
RG - Dotson
RT - upgraded via FA (worse case Chuks)

I disagree with your in-depth assessment... No big deal, bottom line the Steeler like him and they are not pulling the plug after his rookie year.
Bruh...seriously??? Green was one of the worst linemen on the field last year. JC Hassenuer played just as well, if not better, once Green got benched. Facts...

I dont want to see him at Guard either, I think he will get even more bullied there

at this point in his career, Green's best position is IA

Who gave up the most sacks and pressures last season? Also I'm not including anyone with limited game time? It was not Green.... Chuks may have been our best lineman.

Why wouldn't they jump ship? He wasn't a first rounder. They have no big investment in him. He sucked *** at the position. Turner is gone so yeah they need a G but to ignore the C position would be a really horrible decide.

Just give us some signs that you could play center in the NFL Kendrick. Thats all we wanted.

He never did.

So you think only giving up 3 sacks and 18 pressures allowed did not show some promise. Again a rookie transitioning to playing center full time in the NFL, what made you think his game would be flawless.

It helped him the quick trigger Ben had this past season or his numbers would have been way worse.

Green is a bum that Tomlin fell in love with. He failed and as usual Tomlin was too stubborn to admit his mistake. The OLine immediately got better when they put in an undrafted FA in his place.

Some stats won't be easy to see. His constant getting pushed back in the pocket, the lack of run lanes opened. More often than not the guy was a painful watch.

Bama, the problem with that statistic is that most premier pass rushers are edge guys. Green did not face Aaron Donald, for example. In any 4-3 and a lot of nickel and dime defenses, Green did not even had a defender over him.

I would not be mad if Penning was the pick - but I highly doubt he falls to 1.20...

Berm, I've run about 30 mocks and Penning is very, very, VERY likely to be there at 20. He is a premier RT, but some teams are not sure about his ability to hand speed rush at LT. RT's generally fall into the late 1st, early 2nd.

Also, the draft is deep from 20-70. Tons of really good players in that group, mix-and-match, so teams don't have to reach for a guy to fill a need. They can wait a round and get a good player at 51 or 60 rather than reaching to get a guy at 19, for example.

Most mocks have the top-5 or so locked: Thibideaux, Hutchinson, Neal, Stingley, and Hamilton. Gets really muddled after that. At least 20 other guys qualify for consideration as a top-10 rank. Penning ranks 20-30 on most boards.

Very few OL open big holes and a run lane might be half a body wide. Yes I agree he needs to get stronger and work on pad level to eliminate that. He was a relentless blocker that could quickly get to the second level and always blocked to the whistle. You want painful did you watch the fat *** next to him, that was painful. Was it painful to watch Moore Jr give up 7 sacks and 46 pressures? How bad could that have been if Ben did not have a quick trigger? I chalk it all up to baptism by fire for the rookies.

Lol ok... How about the bum Moore Jr.

Moore played well at times. Green was the worst center in the league. Easy to see .

Green did not play well at all. The stats show he sucked the eye test was worse. The second the bum was taken out of the lineup his replacement immediately upgraded the entire line. But do hold your hat on the fact Ben got the ball out so quick he didn't give up 10more sacks .
