Lol Bullshit tyi
Green did not play well at all. The stats show he sucked the eye test was worse. The second the bum was taken out of the lineup his replacement immediately upgraded the entire line. But do hold your hat on the fact Ben got the ball out so quick he didn't give up 10more sacks .
So 3 sacks and 18 pressures = sucks but 7 sacks and 46 pressures doesn't. 😆
No bull **** lying any one can see the stats plenty of OC played worse.

You do know you are statistically comparing two different positions right? Anywho Moore was struggling initially but improved throughout the season. He was also showing run blocking capable. Green struggled all year. I think Moore will continue to make progress year 2. I don't think Green opens as a starter. We shall see how our opinions shake out as free agency is around the corner.

I have no idea how it will all shake out and i will support the team regardless. Yes they are different positions both struggled both played like rookies and I don't hold one up or tear one down, as someone stated they both benefited from the ball coming out quick. I just want the the OL unit to become a strength of this team again.

I second this quit your bullshit cocadoody lying! Tarnation!!
LOL if you have the mental capacity you can look the facts up yourself. I never said the guy was perfect or never got pushed back. With that said bullshit in full effect. Wink wink

you must be new around these parts. I have zero mental capacity. it is well documented.

A center giving up 3 sacks is not good, He is awful in the run game and graded out horribly but hey he is a 3rd round pick, yippey

Moore played well at times. Green was the worst center in the league. Easy to see .
Far from it. I didn't see any other center in this league get down field 10yds off his mark faster than him. Looked like a WR screen on a goal line play, but it was Green who got there for the lead block, not JuJu. Dude is athletic as ****. He's no Sean Mahan.

A vet center giving up 3 sacks is not good.

A rookie center learning the position in the pros is understandable. He will be a better player this year.

Forever the optimistic. Just in this case we will need more from him other than athletism. We will need him to understand leverage, and improve his run blocking. I would love to be wrong about him but he just looks like he is in over his head.

Berm, I've run about 30 mocks and Penning is very, very, VERY likely to be there at 20. He is a premier RT, but some teams are not sure about his ability to hand speed rush at LT. RT's generally fall into the late 1st, early 2nd.

Also, the draft is deep from 20-70. Tons of really good players in that group, mix-and-match, so teams don't have to reach for a guy to fill a need. They can wait a round and get a good player at 51 or 60 rather than reaching to get a guy at 19, for example.

Most mocks have the top-5 or so locked: Thibideaux, Hutchinson, Neal, Stingley, and Hamilton. Gets really muddled after that. At least 20 other guys qualify for consideration as a top-10 rank. Penning ranks 20-30 on most boards.
I wouldn't be mad...

Agreed. I have Penning going to the Steelers in about 10 of my mocks, but have since switched to the team getting a very good CB. I think the Steelers can get a premier RT in Faalele in the 2nd at 52. For CB, if they wait, they MIGHT be lucky and have Gordon fall to them but I doubt it. I really, really want the team to draft either Kaiir Elam (my favorite) or Trent McDuffie in the 1st.

I watched some tape of Metchie III and was really impressed at his route running. He is QUICK as lightning, great cuts, gets open. You know the only defender who took him out of the game when covering him? Elam.

My personal rankings for the two positions I think merit drafting in the 1st and 2nd - RT and CB - and who will likely be available at 20 and/or 52. The players need to be likely available at 20 or 52, so Evan Neal, Derrick Stingley and Ahmad Gardner do not make the list for that reason. I added a couple guys who will be available later rounds, with the round I think the Steelers can get him.

The players listed beyond round 2 have some improvement needed before becoming starters. D'uh. If they were NFL starter-ready, they wouldn't be there in round 4 or whatever. However, the improvements are definitely achievable. I also think that Volston is might go in the 5th but since the team does not have a 5th ...

Evans needs to improve his man coverage. If he whiffs on jamming the receiver, he gets very grabby. Not a great tackler as he tries to blow people up instead of tackling. Technique issues which good coaching can improve if not fix.

Mitchell simply needs to get bigger and stronger. He is a former TE with great footwork, good balance, lower pad level. If he weighed 325 lbs. right now, he is a 2nd round pick.

Volston is a huge guy who mauls in the running game. MAULS. Former teammate of Titans 2nd round pick, OT Dillon Radunz. Volston struggles a bit in pass protection when he gets too upright, but again that is a technique issue. He has incredibly long arms, which will allow him more latitude on pass protection. He won't need to grab defenders who have beaten him to the edge as he can use his reach to shove the defender off the rush lane. Not great in space, so don't expect to see him leading screen passes. I don't think he makes it all the way to 7th round. I did not appreciate how valuable a 5th round pick is until saw how the Steelers giving up their 5th to the Jets took away a lot of options.

Thanks. Edited for posterity or something. Let's keep this between us.

Raimann is an interesting guy. Pretty athletic, from Austria. Good frame, good footwork, will need to add 15 lbs. of good weight. Struggles against good pass rushers. The debate is whether he can improve sufficiently to stick at tackle or will he need to move to guard, like Mayfield from Michigan did with Atlanta. I am concerned that it may take him a season just to be ready and even then, he might have to move to guard, yet he is likely going to take a top-75 pick. Not sure I want to invest a draft pick that high on him, but he could be really good if he improves against the speed rush and gets a bit heavier.

Just started checking on Tyler Smith. No useful info yet. Yeah, yeah, no useful info in anything I proffered so far, I get it.

Corners McCreary, Booth, Hill?
Tackles Raiman, Petit-Frere, Smith, kinnard?

Isn't Mitchell more suited for LT? Sounds more like a chuks than a mauler.

I think Kinnard is going to be a superb interior lineman, don't think he is quick enough to play tackle. Lotta teams have asked Kinnard to work out at center. I could see him being a really, really good center by 2023.

Talked about Raimann above. Have not looked at Petit-Frere yet.

McCreary I like, decent man coverage, but Mechie just abused him in the 2nd half. I wonder how he holds up against elite WR's. Worried he may be limited to working as slot corner. Dude also just looks really small on the field. I am interested to see how he measures up on Sunday.

Mitchell played LT for Louisiana but I think his problem with quick pass rushers is better handled on the right, where he will often have a TE to help chip. He is more a developmental guy, not a day-1 starter - absent injuries of course.

Alec Pierce WR Cincinnati showed both the good (6'3", 211 lbs., 4.41 40, 40" vertical) and the "ehh" (7.13 3-cone). He looks like a Martaivus Bryant - big, very fast, very physical. Could be a very good Y receiver, but not sure he is a genuine X guy since he does not show a lot of sharp cuts and routes that leave a defender grasping at air.

  • Running defense fixed. ILBer fixed soon. RT fixed. Robinson very experienced in backing up Harris, and now have a legit guy to give Harris a series off. CB upgraded significantly. No way Evans lasts this long but whatever. Traded up to get him, giving up a 2023 7th rounder. Yeah, yeah, I bemoaned the Steelers giving up draft picks but very unlikely any 7th rounder is going to be as promising as Evans. Oh, and a WR.
